Walmart Pharmacy

"This Walmart pharmacy is a very poor option for pharmacies. Based on all the other 1-star reviews, I can tell I'm not alone in my experiences with them. In a nutshell, they charge over $50 for a prescription that I could have gotten almost anywhere else in town for $9-12. Much better pharmacy options out there. I've been sick with a nasty cold and have had trouble sleeping at night, so my doctor prescribed a cough syrup for me. Walmart Neighborhood Market is right up the street from us so I had it called in there. When I went to pick it up, the tech said it would be $31, which seemed a bit expensive for six days of a generic cough syrup, but I figured it must be the "normal" price. He then said it looks like it's actually going to be $51. That seemed really expensive so while I was waiting, I tried to look it up on GoodRx. Unfortunately, I had a really hard time understanding what the pharmacy tech was telling me about the name so I couldn't find it on the app. Also, I didn't have a lot of alternatives since the doctor's office was already closed until Monday and I couldn't transfer the Rx. When I got home, I looked up the price at other pharmacies since I now had the name and dosage. I was shocked to learn that Walmart was 5 TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE than other pharmacies! I thought it must be a mistake so I called the pharmacy back and got a different tech. He tried to tell me that Walmart has to charge what they pay to cover their costs and the other pharmacies must be able to buy it cheaper than Walmart. I don't believe for a second that Walmart is paying 5x more for that Rx compared to other chains and grocery stores. When I asked what my options were, he told me there was nothing that I could do. I told him that is fine but I'm going to write this review explaining that Walmart is a total rip off for prescriptions like this. He responded that "rip off" seemed strong. I asked if he thought Walmart charging 500% what others are charging was a rip off in his mind and he didn't have a meaningful answer. Attached is the photo of the prices of other pharmacies in the area. You can judge for yourself if Walmart is a "rip off." We will be changing our prescriptions to a different pharmacy."

"If you'd like your children to go through horrible withdrawals from a noncontroled prescription use this Walmart. Their tech was dishonest with me about which insurance company I needed to contact so was there pharmacist. They knew my children were suffering and they lied to me. I used to feel prescriptions here three times a week for my medically complex children I will never come here again"

"Only post I’ve experienced from me! I am not a huge Walmart shopper, but I love this location! It’s small and the pharmacy is easy to find and there is rarely a line! My prescriptions come quickly and the process is always so easy! The staff is so nice and professional!"

"I drive 30 min out of my way just to come to this pharmacy. The staff is wonderful, they always go above and beyond to help and make sure it’s in a timely manner. The pharmacist are more than helpful. The techs are always so kind and generous, I’m not fully aware of their names. One in particular Brianna is wonderful she Remembers my name. Even over the phone she remembers my name I hope she gets recognized for this review along with the rest of the stuff!"
