Oquirrh Mountain Pharmacy

"I used this pharmacy for years when they first came to Magna. I've been here for 30 years, so before they were here. I also referred other locals to them, but the fill times were getting pretty lengthy, taking several hours after calling it in first thing in the morning or it being requested the night before to hopefully be filled somewhat early the next day. So, with that being said, when one of the bigger chain stores came to town I decided to try them. They were much faster. Still with all the growth in town they kept up. I'm able to get multiple prescriptions filled within 30 to 45 minutes at most. Often 20 minutes or less for a single prescription. Recently there was a NATIONWIDE shortage on one of my medications, so, I called oquirrh in Magna. They had the medication. I was relieved! However, even though they could see me as a patient in their system and my information was the same, because I didn't have THREE ACTIVE prescriptions in with them, they would not fill this prescription for me. This boggled my mind. I supported them for years. After hanging up with them I called SEVEN different pharmacies and they were all out. I had to go 8 days without this medication until it came into another pharmacy. All while KNOWING this pharmacy had this medication in stock the entire time. That was really disheartening. I felt that I was being denied access to medication that they had available to them. And, in truth, I was. Because I didn't have THREE active prescriptions with them. It's disheartening. I gave them my business for so many years, starting at the beginning of them coming to town and for this reason, I would never come back or recommend them to anyone. Knowing that there was a nationwide shortage on a medication but this mom and pop pharmacy so to speak had plenty to fill my prescription, but chose not to, made me feel like I was not cared about or important enough to have access to the medication. Additionally I should note, I would much rather support small, local businesses, so it's an even bigger bummer to me that it didn't work out."

I like it better than mail order. They also follow up to make sure I get my refills in time, so I don't run out."
