Mushin Self Defense is a professional martial arts institution located at 420 North Redwood Road in North Salt Lake, Utah. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn self-defense or an experienced fighter wanting to step into the ring, we have a program that will meet your needs. Our gym offers Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Submission Wrestling, and Thai Boxing instruction in a safe and friendly environment.
We are proud to have two Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Black Belt Instructors, two State Representatives in Combat Submission Wrestling, and two Certified Instructors in Muay Thai. With over 20 years of experience, we strive to provide the best martial arts instruction available.
At Mushin Self Defense, we aim to create a disciplined, respectful, clean, and safe environment for anyone interested in learning martial arts. Our qualified coaches ensure that every student receives professional instruction and support in reaching their goals.
Our classes cover a range of martial arts techniques, including Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai. We also offer private lessons for those looking to improve specific skills or prepare for competitions. Our focus is on developing timing, range, and technique through controlled sparring drills.
We are dedicated to providing a safe and empowering environment for women to learn self-defense and gain confidence in their abilities. Our goal is to help our students develop both mentally and physically while having fun and enjoying the process. "This is a wonderful program for youth MMA! Sensei Brian is really good with the kids, holding high expectations, yet showing each individual he cares about their success. Our 5-year-old has loved Mushin! The ratio of instructor to student was about 1:3 on the average week which allows for much more personalized instruction and extra reps and practice.
