The Kid Dentist

"Wildly unimpressed with this office and dentist. I’ve been 3 times and just really don’t know why I went back after our first experience. Prior to my first time bringing my kids there, I spent a chunk of time on the phone giving information on my kids and our insurance. We showed up 15 minutes early, and had to fill out super long electronic questionnaire with almost all the same information again. Then sat and waited for them to “check with insurance” until an HOUR after our appointment time. Even though they said they would do this before our appointment. While they do have a cute train set and some video games to keep kids entertained… a 2 and 3 year old can only stay entertained by them for so long. One positive was the first hygienist/dental assistant(not sure of her actual roll). She was so good with my kids, so friendly and just made the hour and 15 minute wait almost worth it. We saw Dr. Sorensen, and again, not really impressed. Every question I asked came with a lackluster response. My daughter’s jaw pops super far side to side when she bites down and all he could say was “hmm I don’t know” and no other thought/follow up/ or referral on it. Then, a month later I got a bill for hundreds of dollars… even when they sat for and hour checking with insurance and said all I had to pay was my co-pay. The next time we went, the girl that brought us back was so off putting and just not friendly. She basically didn’t want to have to do any talking with my kids or myself. It was so awkward. The third time, we got that same girl again. She is the one doing the “cleaning” on my kids, and maybe I just am confused on if there is a rule about this with pediatrics or not, but she is not a hygienist. So I’m paying for a professional cleaning, from someone who hasn’t been certified to do so? Once again, after this visit, when I’ve said I only want to do services my insurance covered previously, I get a bill for hundreds of dollars and find they did extra xrays that I said we didn’t want since insurance didn’t cover them the last time. And of course now I am required to pay for them. Again, just not impressed with this office AT ALL, and do not intend to ever go back."

"Raised rates twice in about a year and did not communicate until AFTER the appointments! The recent change was a LOT and for all of my kids. So double check the price before each visit. They claimed to send text or email about the upcoming price changes but they did not. And they should have confirmed with patients when scheduling new appointments that they know about the increased prices. We have liked the dentists but may not go back due to unprofessional billing practices."

"I took my 4 year old son to Dr. Sorensen to get some work done. Dr Sorensen assured me he would do whatever was needed to give my son relief from his tooth pain. He walked me through everything that needed to be done very thoroughly, and took the time to explain why he chose the treatment plan. When it was time to do the treatment, the anesthesiologist was amazing, and Dr Sorensen eased my momma heart when I was nervous. 5/5 service, I will recommend them to everyone!"

"My son had an emergency extraction and Dr Wing was amazing. My son had a bad reaction to the extraction Dr Wing kept checking in with us over the weekend to make sure he was getting better."

"I fully expected there to be tears at my son’s first dentist visit, but was pleasantly surprised. He loved The Kid Dentist and didn’t cry once. There were a lot of fun things to keep him distracted like a choo choo train table, cleaning the stuffies’ teeth, and the TV on the ceiling. The building was bright and clean and the staff was very kind. I’m so glad his first dentist visit was a success."
