"PLEASE please listen to me, DO NOT GO HERE. I cannot stress this enough! I’m not saying to not get help, in fact please do, but not from here. Everything I’m about to say isn’t an exaggeration. I have PTSD from this place and I was only there a week! I have nightmares and panic attacks even a year later. They restricted most people from going outside with any valid reason, some they had a valid reason for but for most they didn’t. I didn’t feel the sun on my skin or breathe fresh air for a whole week. You won’t be allowed to leave. It is a prison. You can only get out by keeping your head down and saying nothing. You cannot contact your family or the outside world. IF by small chance they let you, they tell you not to say anything bad about it. So if you need to get out, you can’t get any help from the outside. They keep you exhausted with their back to back activities, more than half of which have nothing to do with eating disorders. ACTUAL PRISONERS HAVE MORE RIGHTS than the people who attend inpatient. Which they recommended anyone to regardless of whether or not they actually need that level of care. They will tell you that you’re in inpatient because of health problems, but they cannot give you an answer for what those health problems are. After talking to other patients, they were ALL recommended for inpatient regardless of what level of care they were at. If you do have any serious medical issues not related to eating disorders they will not allow you the things you need to manage them. They say that they don’t punish you for not eating everything, and I mean everything including rotten fruit, but they force you to supplement anything you don’t eat no matter how small and if you don’t, you spend 3 hrs in a room by yourself with absolutely nothing else. If you refuse 3 times they force a feeding tube regardless of whether or not you actually need it. They control your water intake, and if what they give you isn’t enough to hydrate you they’ll give you a feeding tube. They will put you in danger. This is the stuff horror movies are made of. Please listen to me… don’t go here. Again I’m not saying to not get help, just.. never from here."

"I spent a month in inpatient and residential treatment at Center for change. It completely changed my life and put me on a new path. After I discharged I had a relapse and told myself I was done with recovery and was going back to my eating disorder. But I couldn't go back. I knew too much and the healthy coping skills I had developed in treatment were too effective to not use. I tried to go back to starving myself and throwing everything up, but having experienced recovery, I just couldn't go back to it. I can say that I am recovered and much happier now. Thank you CFC!"

"I spent about 5 months in CFC all said and done. And it was very helpful for me. I know no treatment center is free of problems but overall this was very positive. The staff were kind and supportive, always willing to listen and they kept a sense of humor and helped me feel a sense of connection when I would isolate."

"One of our family members recently spent time at the Center for Change (the "CFC") in Orem. We were very impressed by the program, the philosophy and the personnel at the CFC! Our family member experienced dramatic healing and achieved all of the goals we had hoped she would achieve. During that process, we particularly appreciated the excellent care and advice she received from her therapist and nutritionist at the CFC. In our experience, the CFC can be both effective and life-changing!"

"To say that we were extremely hesitant of sending our daughter to Center for Change would be putting it lightly. We spent many months telling ourselves that if we took our daughter to an inpatient facility that we would be admitting to failure as parents. She had never been to an inpatient facility before and we were terrified. While they did not do everything perfectly I can honestly say that they saved our daughter's life. We are so thankful that they helped her by having her meet with an amazing therapist and Dietician. She is home now and working on letting her mind heal after being fully weight restored. What I liked most is how I could call no matter what time, day or night, and ask the Nurse questions about how our daughter was doing. My wife and I were also grateful for how Center for Change helps the parents learn about eating disorders and how we can change certain things to help our loved one through recovery. They not only helped our daughter but equipped our entire family with the tools necessary to continue down the path of recovery. While we know that our daughter will probably deal with her eating disorder for the rest of her life to some degree small degree or another, we can tell that she is on the right path now and Center for Change as given her the chance to live a full successful life. Thank you for all that you do for these women who struggle with such a terrible monster. Thank you for being a beacon of light and for giving them hope!"
