"Took my boar Guinea pig Yam in, for an exam and neutering. Was honestly scared considering talking to other vets closer to me. Most of the other vets either didn’t work on Guinea pigs, or said the risk was 50/50. But Wasatch Exotic knows what they were doing, they were so friendly giving us suggestions on what was best for our sweet potato. The Vet even called us up suggesting we don’t do the catheter, because it wouldn’t benefit him much. Even if you live Down in Provo/spanish fork area, I would still suggest the drive is worth it for your furry friend."

"Last night 2/13/24 my daughter’s guinea pig Oreo was in a sudden severe respiratory crisis and her normal vet wasn’t able to see her for over a week. I started calling around the next closest exotic vets and was able to get an urgent visit even though it was an hour before closing. They put her on oxygen straight away but there was very little response. It was determined it was either heart related or lung related but nothing could be done without further labs and imaging to treat it correctly. They had to keep her overnight for oxygen and observation and they would call in roughly 20 minutes with lab results and how to proceed. My daughter was very anxious, emotional and scared. We got about 15 minutes away from the vet and we got a phone call. Unfortunately it wasn’t the call we were expecting. Our piggy went into cardiac arrest after X-rays and they were performing cpr and emergency medicine. My daughter was distraught and they informed us they could keep going with life saving measures but the outlook wasn’t good and if she did revive she would most likely have permanent damage or pass again. We didn’t want to put her through anymore so I made the decision to stop the life saving measures. At this point the clinic was closed and we were invited back anyways after hours to speak to the Dr and go over all the other procedures. We went back to the clinic both in tears and they brought out her baby so we could say our goodbyes and just hold her while we did the final arrangements. The dr came in and showed us the X-rays and explained everything and answered all of our questions for quite a while. She had a bad case of pneumonia and unfortunately by the time she showed symptoms her lungs were completely full and damaged. We were able to get her cremated and choose a bunch of mementos for her and not once were rushed or felt like the staff was annoyed. They even gave us 2 glass vials of her hair. I hope our pig went peacefully and without pain and wasn’t scared and terrified of what was happening. We miss and love you so much Princess Piggy and you’ve left a huge hole in all our hearts. You were gone way to soon, we weren’t prepared and thought we had a few more years of your lovey, playful, loud self. We will miss all your daily squeaks and cage biting for your treats. Rest easy little baby."

"I would like to thank Dr. Taylor and Dr. Harris for seeing my 15+year chinchilla Buttercup as an emergency today, which it surely was. Years and years ago on my first visit to the clinic I remember a very special large rabbit in their office that they loved and cared for, and then how amazingly loving and knowledgeable they were when it came to caring for my parrots. You can tell that there is respect and love for all animals at Wasatch Exotic. Lisa, Allana and the entire staff treated me with incredible respect, and were amazing listeners. I went over the health history several times and they even responded to my email/ contact form within hours. Buttercup lost her battle today but somehow I was consoled by the obvious love that Dr. Taylor showed me before we sent my beautiful chinchilla "home" to the rainbow bridge. I also want to say that the clinic was so fair on the price, doing the fluids for me at no charge and for the beautiful way you sent my chinnie home with me. Class all the way. I will always put my trust and loved ones in the care of Wasatch Exotic Pet Care. They have earned my respect and then some."

"I had the best experience possible at Wasatch Exotic Pet Care. I unfortunately had to but down my hedgehog earlier this month and it was extremely difficult. They went above and beyond by squeezing in an appointment for the same day. You can tell the staff cares about you and your animal. I am happy that I was able to put my hedgehog to rest in the care hands at Wasatch Exotic Pet Care."
