"Friendly service and the meats we ordered were very tasty. Cozy atmosphere in what appears to be an old house converted into a restaurant. I'm from Georgia, and the BBQ stands right up there with the best BBQ in Georgia. I had the pork, thinly sliced brisket, and the Brunswick stew. The stew, however, was unlike any Brunswick stew I've ever seen but tasted similar. I'd love to try the peach cobler, but I was so stuffed I didn't get to try it."

"BBQ heaven. I love BBQ. I have eaten it in several states and many in Utah try but fall short of the full southern BBQ experience. These guys nail it! There were 10-15 people in line ahead of me but we got through the line in about 10 minutes. The food is amazing. They have tons of different sauces! See photo. Parking is rough. Don't bring a low rider or Lamborghini there are tons of large potholes and the parking lot is just dirt. The atmosphere is exactly what you would expect in the South. Not fancy but welcoming and so worth it. I had the brisket. It is awesome!"

"Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Brisket, chicken, mac-n-cheese (the best I ever had!), peach cobbler, coleslaw, beans, mashed potatoes, all the BBQ sauces!! We will definitely be back when back in Provo. Build one in AZ!"

"5 Star BBQ is in the top 5 BBQ places in Utah. The homestyle feel of the entire place just adds to the experience. In my recent visit, I had the Saturday special (Loaded BBQ Fries). I enjoyed it and it was extremely filling, but I'd recommend the 2 meat plate instead. It's the bulletproof menu item that's tough to beat. For meats, I love the brisket, turkey (it's super tender and moist), Cajun sausage, and ribs. For sides, I go with the BBQ beans, fries, and then cornbread for my bread choice. Make sure to stop by the fridges throughout the place to load up on sauces. On the table, I like the Sweet BBQ over the House BBQ, but I also like sweeter sauces in general. And you've got to try the Alabama sauce. Not because it's out of this world, but it's unique in a way I can't explain. I've always had good interactions with the staff at 5 Star. They've been friendly and answer my BBQ-related questions. I'm a huge fan of this place and will continue to be an eager patron."

"Some of the best BBQ I've enjoyed in awhile. Had the two meat plate with Brisket and Turkey. The brisket is sublime! Even got a little burnt end. Had fried funeral potatoes and coleslaw as sides and incredible cornbread with honey butter. My wife has the Turkey and Chicken with coleslaw and mashed taters. They subbed a huge pickle for the bread. Gluten friendly and a great selection of sauces. Friendly staff and a simple sit down atmosphere. Thank you and we'll be back."
