Nielsen's Frozen Custard (Bountiful)

"Let's be honest, custard is the better version of ice cream, and Nielsen's is one of the best frozen custard places in Utah! I go to Nielsen's semi-regularly for a tasty frozen treat and maybe some food. They always seem well stocked with all kinds of yummy food and sweet treats, and have a friendly staff. The only real downside to this location that I've seen truly is how busy they get (it makes getting in/out of the parking lot... "fun," lol)!"

"Nielsen’s is a fun locally run favorite. They have a daily frozen custard flavor. The grinder sandwich has turkey, cream cheese, and avocado. We like the onion rings too. Fry sauce may be an Utah thing but we love it! The burgers are delicious too. Peak times you have to plan on waiting in line, but it is worth the wait."

"Good food, the best custard in the world, and slow but friendly service with a throwback diner menu and ambiance. Nielsen's used to be in Arizona. So we have to go anytime we're in Bountiful. They really have the best custard anywhere. The custard in most other places is basically only a notch better than soft-serve. The grinder bread was much better in Arizona but here it is passable. Inside seating has been closed for many months due to labor shortages, according to management. I think that's a sorry excuse for choosing not to compete adequately in the labor market. Service through the walkup window is slow and a bit frustrating when you just need to ask a question. The lines can get very long. On top of that, it kills the vibe of eating at a 50s style diner when you eat outside and look through the windows longingly."

"Great classic drive in with sandwiches, burgers, and great custard. The building is really cool, it’s a classic burger joint with walk up windows as well as a drive thru. The drive thru moves quickly, though you have to go park and then they bring out your food. The employees were easy to understand through the speaker and were friendly. It was a young crew of what appeared to mostly be high schoolers, but really professional. The menu offers a wide variety of sandwiches that goes beyond the typical burger place. I got the double cheeseburger onion ring combo. It came with the burger, a good portion of onion rings, and a large drink. I also ordered a cherry chocolate chip concrete. My total was approximately $18. The burger was good, not the best I’ve had. It was a classic diner style burger. The onion rings were good too, also a classic style that’s thicker cut. The drink was good. The concrete was excellent. It was well mixed and stayed cold for quite some time."
