"Have been to several Sushi Ya locations. Decent sushi at a decent price. But this week we tried to go to this location and got the about 20 min before closing time. They refused to seat us. We would have ordered all the rolls at once and taken our check, whatever to not keep them too late, but they refused, saying take out only. I have worked in the restaurant industry and we never turned away customers even if it was 2 min before close. Bad customer service. Too many decent sushi places, we can and did go elsewhere."
"2 of our 4 sushi rolls were good, the bathrooms were really dirty, the service was poor (we had to get up from our table and go find our waitress 2 times to get what we needed and also had to track her down to get the rest of our order). The prices were good, and there was no wait. We didn't have too wait long for our sushi to arrive."
"We had a terrible experience here… We got our first plate 40mins after we ordered and they still missed some of the dishes. The sushi rice are super warm which makes it not authentic at all. We ordered nigiri but it just feels like rice balls since they served way too much rice and little amount of seafood. Seafood didn’t taste really fresh. The staff was mean and looked very reluctant. Will not go back again."
"Slowww service, racist towards Asian customers, missing orders, ridiculous fish-rice ratio. Nigiri rice is hot and they don’t use sushi vinegar. We came in at 12:08 and got our food at 12:45, not exaggerating. Then they served food for later customers first just because they aren’t eating the AYCE option. Then they stare at you as you put down how much tip. It’s really that bad."
"The bento boxes are always really good! Their sushi rolls are amazing as well and great priced for all you can eat! Tons of rolls to choose from! The staff is really friendly and it’s pretty quick service… one of our favorite sushi places in Layton!"
