"I have had two of my sons (ages 5 and 3 yrs.) in the Lighthouse Montessori school for one year now, and they both love it! The Montessori program allows them to follow their interests, which keeps them engaged, and encourages them to go deeper than would be expected for their age. My five-year old has pursued his interest of tigers to the point of delving into their uniquely enervated teeth and my three-year old is exploring numbers and beginning to do simple addition on his own accord. They are both progressing well in their literacy as well, in addition to asking increasingly insightful questions about everything from mummies in Egypt to black holes in the universe. They love learning! Ms. Maraly is warm, flexible, astute, and compassionate with my boys, and helps them to address their needs as well as interests. For example, my five-year old has struggled with fine motor skills all of his life, and Maraly has made it a point to help him strengthen those muscles and develop those skills in a way that helps him feel success and see his own progress. He attends public kindergarten in the afternoon, and his kindergarten teacher remarked at our last meeting how much he has improved in his fine motor and communication skills. We certainly work with him at home as well, but I know much of this progress is due to Maraly's careful attention and insight. She sends me regular updates, including photos and videos of my children, so I know exactly what is happening and how they are responding. My kids love looking at the pictures with me and telling me about what they were doing at the time. They enjoy discussing school, and I feel Maraly has amplified our efforts as parents. Both of my sons say, "I love school!" on a regular basis, and their natural curiosity has flourished in this environment. I can't recommend Lighthouse Montessori highly enough!"
