"Traveling for work, I’m usually in a different hotel room every night. It’s not very often I come across a gem like this place! The staff are wonderful. The rooms are amazing. Some of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on. And the value can’t be beat! I’ve had the opportunity to stay on two different occasions, and will stay again the next time I come through town!"

"Nice cozy place to stay for area hunter, fishermen or travelers just passing through. Owners and caretakers are extremely friendly. Rooms are very clean, updated and plenty spacious. A vending area is on premises. A grocery store is across the street and a convenient store is a short walk just 2 blocks away."
"Brought the wife and kids for a little get away to Lake McConaughey a few months ago and I forgot to write up a review of how excellent this stay was! It was a little home away from home for all of us! The kids enjoyed their room, while the wife and I got to get away and loved ours! The service was excellent and the staff instantly made us feel safe and at home. I can't recommend this place enough for a family or even a large group of your friends. Thank You Shady Rest!"
