Mujeres Valley Fairgrounds is a unique campground, lodging, and park located at 11 Mujeres Valley Road in Fence Lake, New Mexico, United States. This 20-acre sustainable and plant medicine-friendly campground is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming space for people of color. The secluded area in Cibola County offers open, private, and community spaces with walkways and trails lined with ancient trees and volcanic rocks. Visitors can enjoy hiking, camping, and experiencing nature in this remote subdivision with stunning views of the surrounding areas.
Campground fees go towards restoring indigenous wildlife, adding greenhouses for gardening classes, and creating a pond for fresh fish. Private tours of the campgrounds, trails, and history of the land are available through Airbnb or Hipcamp listings. Official Mujeres Valley sweaters are available for purchase, with proceeds supporting campground development in 2022.
The institution is currently seeking team members to contribute to the legendary energy and healing spaces being created in Fence Lake. In-person and remote opportunities are available. "This lovely couple is doing things with the most honorable intentions. The land is pristine clean, the location feels safe and secluded at the same time. The dogs had a blast and I didn't feel I had to worry about them running around camp. This is dry camping at its best, but the hosts will provide for all your needs with sweetness and smiles. "I stayed at the campgrounds for a month and all I can say is wow! The land is breathtaking, the guided hiking tours were out of this world, and the opportunity to reconnect with land as BIPOC is HUGE and they offer that for us at Mujeres Valley. Luckily, I was out for an extended stay and an event, so we worked and adventured. I strongly recommend this property for any modern nomads, vanlifers, and anyone looking to connect with nature....Especially if you are BIPOC!"
