Lordsburg KOA Journey

"Satisfactory no-frills park in a somewhat dilapidated neighborhood area. We stopped here between Bisbee AZ and Elephant Butte NM. Bathrooms were dated but CLEAN. Nice and quiet overnight. Convenience store has high prices (almost $11 for 4 rolls of RV toilet paper). Donald at front desk was nice and got us checked in quickly. However we did have a weird staff interaction earlier in the day; we showed up around 10:30 AM hoping to check in early but the office was closed. We were sitting in our RV reading the sign on the office door when a staff member in a KOA branded pick up truck (not Donald) pulled up perpendicular to us and stopped, then frowned at us through his windshield. We thought maybe we were blocking him in - but the parking lot is big and he easily could have gone around us. He just sat there and stared at us with an angry look on his face. He seemed very unhappy with us being parked there so we smiled and waved but he did not react at all. Just frowned at us. We got out of there ASAP and I have to admit I’ve never felt as unwelcome at a KOA before. Luckily he was not working the front desk when we checked in a few hours later!"

"Really nice park with easy, large pull thru spots. A great overnight stop. Staff was extremely helpful even letting us know temps were dropping below freezing. The area is a little depressed and you may wonder what you've gotten yourself into as you drive in but it is easy to get to off of I-10and the park itself is a great place for an overnight stay."

"Conveniently located off I10, your life will flash before your eyes as you approach the park through the real-life inspiration for Dawn of the Dead. If you don't participate in KOA membership points, KOA should come repossess your sign - you're just an independent park with yellow house paint on the electrical panels. Membership points are the only reason to visit this terrifying locale, so having to find out in person that they don't participate was less-than-gratifying. We were told that it was an old KOA, so they don't have to take our reward points. We could have justified $20 a night, but at $55, you could have bowled my over with a feather!"

"Pretty decent koa. The cabin was typical of any other KOA. It got to 23° at night so the heater in the cabin couldn't quite keep up. It stayed comfortable but there was a little bit of a chill. You do have to drive through a pretty abandoned part of town to get to the KOA. Bathroom and shower area is heated and very clean! Good stopping point to break up a long drive."

"We stayed in Kabin 1 without a previous reservation and it was so cute and cozy! The staff that checked us in were so friendly and sweet. The BEST thing about this location is the cleanliness of the restrooms. They are immaculate and I didn’t see a single bug the entire time I was here. Highly recommend this place if you’re cruising through."
