"Doctors are very helpful. The front desk is not very kind. I needed to pick up fmla paperwork for surgery. Despite the hours being listed as open until 5, I arrived at 4:45 to find the door locked. My husband and I both begged the front desk the next morning to remain open until at least 4:45 the next day so that I would be able to pick up my paperwork. The front desk said they couldn’t guarantee such a thing and if I wasn’t there by 4:45 she would be gone. Having to have surgery is already nerve racking enough; to not support patients that cannot take more sick leave to retrieve paperwork (because it’s all being used for the surgery and recovery time) is callous. Hours have been changed to reflect that they only remain open until 4:45 so that other patients won’t have to experience what I did."

"I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone! The staff and especially the doctors are extremely rude and they don't care one bit about the patients. They treat the patients as if they are nothing but a bother to them but what they don't realize is that without the patients, they wouldn't have a job. UPDATE: I would like to add to my review that I walked into the office two weeks ago and completed the paperwork to have my medical records transferred to my new provider only to find out that the request was NEVER submitted. Just another reason why people should NOT go to this facility!! Now I have to start all over again to re-request that and hope my new provider receives my medical records in time for my upcoming appointment. Women's Specialist of New Mexico is worthless!!"

"Dr. Valdez performed a robotic hysterectomy surgery for me in November. I'd been so nervous! I read through all of her reviews and saw some that said she has a poor bedside manner, but what was more important to me was her skill as a surgeon. Well, I am now healed and am happy to report that everything went well. I feel compelled to write this review because it is unfair that Dr. Valdez is having her reputation tarnished by any negative reviews. I've probably seen her 10 times by now and she has always been pleasant and wonderful! I enjoy my appointments with her. You can tell she knows her stuff and genuinely cares. Also, if you've come across this review because you need to have a hysterectomy, do not be nervous! I was so afraid that I made end of life plans, certain I would die on the operating table. The surgery and the recovery turned out to be easy and mostly pain-free. Go the robotic route if that is an option. Less than a week after my surgery, I hosted Thanksgiving! Arrange for at least 2 weeks off from work, ideally 3 if you can. Ask for a pain ball purse, which provides a line of numbing gel internally to keep everything comfortable for the first few days of recovery.
