The Foothills Inn

"This hotel has great staff, they helped me get an extended stay. The room was clean and high quality. We stayed here in the winter which made the price much lower. But even in the summer this would be a great place to stay again. It is near downtown and not far from the black hills."

"The lady at the front desk of this hotel was a nothing higher than a jerk! I don't do well with people who only like to take your money but not provide any quality customer service. They charge a $10.00 Processing Fee --- For What? To harass you? Think twice before you stay here. They need to learn how to service customers. Lady hung up on me all because I was asking questions about their processes. I have a right to know how and where my money is going."

"This is an older hotel but it is well maintained and comfortable. We stayed two nights. Our king room was good, had a fridge with freezer, and a microwave. Pool area was nice. Our evening desk clerk was friendly and helpful. We appreciated the quiet room fan which helped drown out street noise. Good location. Breakfast was basic."

"Aside from the overall "we know grandma loves us, but holy cow is she strict" feel of the hotel rules, and the thing on our "freshly-cleaned" sheets when we first got to the room (we were fairly certain it was not a dried-on booger?), the room was quaint, and the inn was silent at night. The whine of the refrigerator lulled us to sleep once the roar of the ac died down. The people at the front desk were nice enough, but with the feel of people who are tired of putting up with your nonsense. The pool experience was good, despite the uncertainty of whether we were breaking some odd rule or not. Overall, having been camping and sleeping on a rock the week before, this was more comfortable, and I didn't see any bugs or rodents, so maybe it was worth the significantly lower price than other hotels in the area. Also, there was a large reddish stain on the carpet and the sheathing on the clock cord was torn. The toilet was also clean enough, but definitely not cleaner than when my 6yo cleans the toilet. If you're up for a quiet adventure, (and it better be quiet, especially after 10) then give this place a try."

"The Foothills Inn was a great place for us to stay. We were in rapid city for 3 days and nights and had booked a room here. Staff was amazing, rooms were very clean. The place was quiet for being so close to the highway. Our room had a sliding door to the parking lot and pool area which was great. The only drawback was the free breakfast was very lacking. We would most definitely stay here again!"
