However Gary could make more money as a raconteur on the speech circuit with his stories of time in the Marines, being blown up in Iraq and having to reinvent himself from nursing after three years rehab to barbering. The hour wait flew by with various interactions with customers. The story about the building, setting up the business and taking on city hall demonstrate a resilience rarely seen. Go just to have a beer and a good time even if no cut requires tho you'll have to pay for the beer."

"The beer was cold, the cut was fresh, and the conversations were based. Never felt more welcome somewhere as I did hanging out shooting the breeze with Doc (owner & head barber) and the other vets who were waiting in line. Stopped by last week during the off season, so no tourists. There were still six locals waiting for a cut at 10am on a Wednesday, and I think that says something about Doc’s reputation. A self-made, American hero, after about 10 minutes of chatting with him, it was quickly apparent this dude is the real deal. Veteran owned and operated. Walk-ins only, no appointments, no BS, great prices, military, fire, and police discounts. Ambiance is excellent, and that bathroom art really tied the room together, man. The wait was longer, and he doesn’t do manicures, but the quality cut, company of the local guys and selection of local beer was worth it. We laughed, swapped war stories, and had a great time. Doc gave me the best haircut, beard trim, and hot shave I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favor and swing on by."
