"We road the 1880 train and had limited time to spend in Hill City. We waited 10 min to be seated, then decided to seat ourselves at a table outside near family. 10-15 minutes for the waitress to take our order. In fact, my sister was the one who gave us our water by sharing her pitcher and cups. Then we had to wait 45 min for three soups and a Mac n cheese. I tried to just pay for our drinks and leave after we had been there for 1 hour but was told to wait for our server. I asked her for the check so we could leave and she said our food was ready. When we got "our" food, it was for some other table. A table that had gotten there after us and received their food before us. She finally brought us our food, but it was cold as if it had been sitting for a long time. I asked to have the Mac n cheese removed from our check because my daughter couldn't stomach it, and she said she had to ask the manager. I was not going to wait another 10-15 minutes and said we would just pay the check and we left. Horrible experience. I wish I had gone with my husband to Alpine Inn. He said it was awesome! He was done eating and paying the check before we even got our food."
