"Second time visiting this clinic was today. Last week my husband and I, broken, saw a counselor there. Thought it would be ok, she seemed pretty firm, not over the top friendly, like I wouldn’t use the word nice to describe her, but we had to do intake so I figured it was just all the rules and paperwork stuff that made it seem formal. I did have weird vibes even after being in there for an hour but I disregarded my feelings since my husband agreed to see her. Fast forward to today. I go see someone individually this time as my life is a hot mess. Hence therapy. Intake was similar as with the other therapist, and this one is very nice and it rude so I won’t say anything against her at all, just doing her job, but I felt judged by some of the questions I gave answered to. Like I am guessing if I drank wine a few times a week, nobody would have told me not to come there drunk because common sense. But I said I partake in cannabis and she told me not to come there high. Well duh. Mayfield also made her say that she couldn’t be in a relationship with me or anyone in my life outside of therapy. Well yes. I mean. YES! Of course. Do I look stupid Mayfield? Front desk person was super nice. Very helpful. As well as when I called, they are pleasant and comforting. However… This place is so totally NOT my vibe. The woman I met today is sweet and felt very caring so she is fine. Reading the other review on here with the marriage counselor has me feeling another type of way though because it confirms my gut feelings. I think this place could potentially damage my marriage further based on that review. Anyway, good luck to those that like this place."
"I am so grateful we found Mayfield Counseling for our daughter. Her therapist Derek Bayne, has went above and beyond, even after hours to help her or us with anything and everything. As a parent, who feared for their child, now sees such progress. I am so grateful for Derek, he truly loves what he does, and makes sense, for not just my child, but me so we can build a stronger relationship together. If you want to be in a place were therapist actually care this is it. Thank you."
"Our family has had experiences with a few different counselors at Mayfield. Our son was seen for a few months after a very traumatic experience at school, and received some great strategies for coping with anxiety and stress. The counselors are professional, sympathetic, and provide great strategies for the issues at hand. We've had great experiences with both Aimee and Logan."
"If I could rate this place with 0 stars, I would. Our first marriage counseling, we showed up to the address that was provided in the reminder text. We sat in the waiting room for well over 15 minutes with many of the staff seeing us sitting there for awhile with none of them asking us if we needed assistance. Then after 15 minutes we finally knocked on the window of the office only to be told we were at the wrong office for our counselor, Aimee. The staff at the original office was at least courteous enough to apologize for the confusion and let us know our counselors office was only a few minutes down the road. We arrived and Aimee was IMMEDIATELY rude letting us know how upset she was that we were late because she had plans after our session for her sons graduation. I would understand her frustration if we were actually late but we were initially 10 minutes early to the address provided in the text message reminder. With us being a very fragile broken married couple we decided to still proceed. We both were very guarded accounting our first interaction and past life trauma we both individually have experienced. After the session we scheduled 1 on 1s and it only got worse from there. She first saw my husband yesterday morning and told him I came in the initial meeting “hot and disrespectful” even though she was the one who was extremely disrespectful since we were “late”. She was overly sympathetic to him and overly nice and he came home warning me about his experience and her expressions towards me. Even when he was tell her his faults in our marriage she validated him due to “being in the military and that’s just the environment”. He even admitted he wanted/needed her to tell him he was wrong for the things he did. I went in this morning with still an open mind and smiling face at 8 am. She greeted me with no smile and a very not soft “good morning” back. She gave my husband paperwork yesterday that he brought home to the understanding he was suppose to fill out with MY information. When I brought the paperwork back she was EXTREMELY disrespectful and talked down on me like a child as if I was there when she handed him the paperwork. He was supposedly suppose to fill it out with his information. Regardless, I texted my husband “I’m about to leave, she is already being extremely rude and it’s barely been 1 minute since walking through her door.” Even though he responded with “just leave then, I want us both to be comfortable throughout this process” I decided to push through. She then would ask me questions and would judge every answer I would give EVEN if it was how I FELT about MY marriage that she knows so little about given it’s the second time I’ve seen her. She even had the nerve to tell me during our session and me crying about a circumstance, she knew plenty of military wife’s who still had a full time job and was a Mom. She is completely disrespectful and will make you leaving her office feeling worse than you originally felt walking-in. I’m glad my husband went with gut and came home to warn me yesterday so I knew it wasn’t just me being guarded today. I would NEVER recommend this place or Aimee."
"The staff at Mayfield beautifully helped walk me through one of the hardest experiences of my life. They helped bring joy and hope into a really dark season. They are some of the most down to earth, knowledgeable staff. The environment of the office is friendly and welcoming. Nothing but good things to say about my experience. Highly recommended!"
