Body Art Therapy Studio Tattoo Shop, also known as BATS, is a unique black/woman owned tattoo and piercing studio located in the heart of Aurora, Colorado. Our studio provides a clean, safe, and judgment-free environment where we offer therapeutic body art as an alternative to self-harm. Our trained professionals specialize in covering all types of scars and offer a variety of styles including cover-ups.

Owner and Piercer Kayla Kakesz brings over 18 years of piercing experience to the studio and mentors upcoming piercers. Co-Owner, Tattoo Manager, and Head Artist Rico has over 15 years of tattooing experience and specializes in portraits and black and gray realism. Rico also offers tattoo apprenticeships at an affordable price.

HR specialist Kyandra sells custom-made body butters that can be picked up at the shop or ordered for delivery. Head Piercer and Certified Mentoring Assistant Sticcky has over 3 years of piercing experience and specializes in unique custom piercings, as well as assisting in hands-on piercing training courses.

Artist Tony has over 10 years of tattooing experience and specializes in color and UV ink tattoos. Artist Kass brings over 1 year of tattooing experience to the studio and specializes in traditional Japanese, anime, horror themes, custom cartoon characters, and lettering.
