Twin Butte Campground

"Highly recommend this campground. We had a warm welcome, great hosts, super clean washrooms and were entertain by the baby bunnies that room free. A nice comfortable stop for us weary travelers."

"This campground is off of Hwy 85 next door to the owners' house. There's a gravel driveway that loops around the 15 sites. There is a bathroom with a shower for both men and women. We stayed in site 14, which was plenty long for our motorhome and tow dolly. It was level without any help. We liked the pine trees nearby as they kept it cool in the shade. When we checked in, the owner stopped by to see if we needed anything and gave suggestions on where to go nearby for siteseeing and hiking! The owners are a friendly family."

"While on a road trip in this area in our camper-van in June 2022 we stayed in this campground for 1 night while driving from the Black Hills of South Dakota to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We called about 2 weeks ahead and reserved a site, which was a good idea, as there was nobody in the office when we arrived. In fact, we did not see the owners or managers while we were there. This place is very low-key. It was quiet and turned out to be a great place to stay. The restrooms and showers were clean. All the sites are all very flat and on grass, which was nice; and they are pretty close together, but it wasn’t full when we were there, so it didn’t feel crowded. The $35 fee is a little pricey for what you got, since we did not need to use the power hook-up. Recommended!"

"Just stayed there last night and I need to share our experience. For one, despite the camp being closed because we were heading through Bowman late in the season, the owner graciously still let us stay. He changed his own plans to ensure that we would be able to find the place and get us settled in for the night. He was so friendly and accommodating - he went far over and above what was expected. Very reasonable rate (and wouldn’t accept a dollar more), quiet night’s stay. He helped us hit the road in the morning, entertaining us with stories in the morning. If we’re ever through this area again, we will certainly come back to visit again…and hopefully we’ll get to meet his wife and daughter then. They sound great too. Highly recommend…if you need a place to stay, this is the one!"

"I'm long overdue in writing a review! We stayed at Twin Butte Campground in early August 2020, the "year of covid." We had the place to ourselves and the owner and his daughter showed us the best shaded spot and even had us park sideways so we'd maximize the shade. Nice place, lovely people. It was very peaceful. (and check out the market in Bowman. It's very nice)"
