"My experience is always pleasant and welcomed by wonderful front office staff Lauren and Jean that greet us with a smile when we walk in. If I am calling to schedule or have a question they are always willing to help me and my question is always returned before the end of the day. The medical assistants are kind and do a great job with care. Dr. Apple goes above and beyond in responding to my questions or concerns and we are accommodated on the schedule if my kids are sick and need a same day appointment. It is an all around wonderful experience because they treat you with care and kindness."

As a patient who values honesty and transparency in healthcare, I find myself compelled to share my recent experience at Matthews Vu, which left me deeply disappointed and feeling deceived. I scheduled a routine annual exam, expecting a smooth and straightforward process, especially regarding billing. My insurance plan covers such exams at 100%, without any co-pay. However, the reality was startlingly different. During the exam, my doctor casually inquired about my acid reflux and if I needed any medication refills. I responded that my condition was stable and I was already receiving medication from my VA doctor. To my surprise, this brief exchange was later used as a pretext to levy an additional charge. The billing department classified my simple response as an "office visit" for medical advice, resulting in an unexpected $30 co-pay. This situation raises serious concerns about the billing practices at Matthews Vu. What was supposed to be a fully covered annual exam quickly turned into an opportunity for the office to impose extra charges under misleading circumstances. The fact that a routine question about my health status, which I perceive as a standard part of any check-up, was used as a basis for an additional fee is both disconcerting and unacceptable. I believe this practice is not only unethical but also borders on fraudulent. It exploits patients' trust and their need for medical care. Such a strategy of hidden fees and charges for standard communication during an exam can put patients in a difficult financial situation and erodes the trust essential in a doctor-patient relationship. I am sharing this experience to caution potential patients. Be vigilant about the possibility of unexpected charges and clarify beforehand what constitutes an "office visit." While the medical care provided might be satisfactory, the administrative and billing practices at Matthews Vu leave much to be desired. In conclusion, I urge the management of Matthews Vu to reconsider their billing practices and adopt a more transparent and patient-friendly approach. "EDIT: Upon going back in it seemed that they had a new front desk person who was friendly and engaged. I have had a much better experience thus far. I was really trying to like this place since they were referred to me by a close friend. However they are terrible. The front desk staff are RUDE. They talk to you like they are doing you some huge favor by scheduling you an appointment. I also made an appointment for my child to receive his shots and I show up and they say they are "all out" and suggest I just call around to all of their locations to see if they have any in stock. Then when I had a child getting discharged after 100+ days in the hospital and I needed an appointment with a PCP, they wouldn't even schedule one unless I dropped off legal guardianship paperwork BEFORE they would even schedule an appointment. NONE OF THIS is family friendly behavior. As a busy mom I barely have time to write this review let alone all of the other nonsense they want to put people through. As a result, I need to find another provider as I refuse to give my time and energy to "family" businesses who are not in fact "family" oriented or "friendly"."

"I live in Pueblo and heard good things about Dr. Apple. When my daughter and I arrived we were treated with a welcoming greeting. Staff was very friendly and attentive throughout appointment. Dr. Apple is a very care provider. I definitely will be back."
