"I have been going to this practice for over 35 years. I have NEVER had an issue with anyone or anything. This office has always provided the very best of care. Majority of the staff has been in this practice since I started coming to the practice. That says a lot about the work environment and the practice. My care with having my two sons in 1994 and 1998 was the very best. The physicians knew me well and cared for me like one of their own children. After they (the original doctors) retired from OB/GYN Dr. Hansen came on board and she has been an outstanding physician and has provided me with excellent care l. Additionally, she has provided a wealth of knowledge and medical solutions on various areas of my health that were extremely helpful and reassuring. Dr. Hansen is very easy to talk to and extremely informative. I trust her and her medical knowledge in all aspects of my health. She is very thorough and open to discussion on various topics of my overall body and health not just gynecological health. I have known most of the office staff for over 35 years and my visits to the Boulder Women’s clinic are always welcoming and I always enjoy catching up with each of them when I am there for an appointment. It has always been a simple and easy visit. After reading some of these comments, I can tell that some people do not understand how insurance works, or medical billing. Medical care is not free. You can call your insurance before an appointment and they will give you an idea of the cost that will be expected. If you ask a medical office to bill you… Don’t move with no forwarding address and then try defending yourself for not paying the bill by stating you never got a bill. You are not fooling anyone. As far as diagnoses you don’t like or advice you don’t agree with ? Doctors give you the best medical advice based their expertise on the information you provide and any diagnostic tests or blood tests they are able to collect to make a recommendation. They cannot read your mind and if you do not tell them the whole truth about your situation how can they determine what is best for you? The other point is that different doctors do have different opinions and/or recommendations for treatment of various issues. If you don’t like what one doctor says, it doesn’t necessarily mean it is incorrect. If you don’t feel comfortable with their recommendations discuss it with them and get an understanding of why they are recommending what is best for you.Take an active role in learning about your issue. Not all doctors jump to surgery as a solution. There is a lot that goes into their decision and recommendation. A lot a factors are considered. One of which rely’s on your communication and all the information that was provided by the patient. Then remember no one is telling you have to do or not do anything. It is completely up to you. If you don’t like their answer go ask another doctor. Don’t blame them for having a professional recommendation for a particular situation that does not match your non medically trained mind and what you think you should do. Lastly, I do also think there are several people who have this practice confused with the Boulder Women’s Care office ( 5th floor). Boulder Women’s clinic is the first floor. Boulder Women’s Clinic is strictly GYN. They have cared for me and have only treated me with the upmost professional care and treatment. 5 Stars !!!"

"Been going here for years and I've never been more frustrated. I have an appointment next month for my annual but I'm out of meds. The receptionist said they won't refill, even for 30 days, because I didn't do enough leg work for them, they want me to provide paperwork from a different doctor that I haven't seen this year! Did I mention that I already have an appointment scheduled to see my doctor at Boulder Women's Clinic in less than a month?? She actually argued with me over the phone about paperwork they wanted me to provide so I asked to speak to my PA - Lauren. Today was my third call to their office, I only called to leave a message for my PA because I've already been through this with the receptionist - twice. The RECEPTIONIST said, "Lauren will not be able to fill that for you." The RECEPTIONIST is making decisions about my health care and refused to take a message to give to Lauren. After badgering her for a few minutes she agreed to give my phone number to Lauren's assistant. I am furious. This is NOT how health care should work. Last year something similar happened. I will be looking for a new provider. Receptionists should not be running interference between a patient and their medical provider. If you are reading this, leave this practice now before it happens to you."

"I am very disappointed with the care that I received at Boulder Women's Clinic. In short, I had chronic ovarian torsion (by the time I was at Boulder Women's Clinic, I had five surgeries for it) and was seeking surgery to remove my ovary proactively before another emergency happened. I was met with resistance to removing my ovary (even though it is what I wanted and what made the most sense for my health). Instead, I was offered unhelpful solutions like getting trying a new birth control. I felt belittled and like my theoretical fertility was prioritized over my well-being. Eventually I stopped going to the clinic, due to being discouraged and not getting the help I needed. Shortly after, I did have another emergency and had my ovary removed in emergency surgery. This had been my goal all along and if Boulder Women's Clinic had listened to me it would have saved me a lot of time and unnecessary pain."

"Edit: The billing issue was promptly resolved when business hours resumed, which is appreciated. It would have been nice to feel like I could receive actual help via avenues outside of public google review. ———— I called and paid my bill months ago and I have just discovered they have been coming after me for some inexplicable $5, why did you not charge for the full owed amount when I called to pay? This has continued to accumulate late fees. If you wanted to keep billing me and accumulating “rebilling fees” I guess I could see why you would provide such terrible front desk service as to not advise that you were not charging the entire amount owed. Maybe this is not really personal to any individual and your billing system is garbage? I will not return due to concerns not being fully addressed and generally not receiving communication as well as lack online resources for payment. I sent an email which was not particularly nice, however wanted to address what was wrong outside of a public google review. The only reply was to “call the office” and when I asked who I could speak with it was ignored. The doctors I met with themselves were nice and professional enough as far as I was concerned."

"Edit: Since the clinic said I was never there. Let's review. I was there 3 times. 1) w/ PA Jen (who was fabulous) 2) had my imaging read by Dr. Hansen 3) yesterday and was turned away when I switched insurances and was no longer in network. Jen is amazing. I was going back to see her. But "Dr." Hansen should re-think working with patients and being public facing. She had the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced from a doctor. Especially considering she is dealing with sensitive women's issues. I'm shocked she has decided to work with women let alone continue to do so. Additionally the front desk has always been rude to me. As if I'm a bother to be there. But I can understand if she works under Hansen. I would be mad at life too if I had to work with that woman Monday through Friday. I'm grateful to have been turned away yesterday because I was able to immediately get an appointment with a new OBGYN and had such an exceptional experience. The stark contrast is what made me decide to write the review. So, for the person who is saying they have no record of being there, that is very much inline with my review. I wish I would have read the reviews on Google, health grades and other sites before I ever stepped foot in this office a couple years ago. What a horrible environment to provide women's health "care". Seriously, Dr. Hansen should rethink working with patients. She should read these reviews and take a deep look inside to see if this is the right line of work for her. I hope she finds some sort of peace in whatever pain makes her such a miserable person to her patients."
