"The doctors and medical staff are awesome. The front office workers are absolutely awful and should all be fired for incompetence. Today I arrived for my scheduled appointment to just pick up my glasses. I was told to have a seat in the waiting area which I did because the optician was already helping someone. While waiting my turn another customer came in to pick up glasses and they didn’t have an appointment. They took him and started helping him. I went up three times to the two women at the front desk and told them it was my appointment time. The women kept telling me they would try to find someone to help me. The front desk woman continued to gossip with the other office worker, continued to eat her burritos, continued to talk about boyfriends and not do anything to assist me. I had to sit for half an hour waiting for the person that didn’t have an appointment to finish. I asked to speak to the office manager, but apparently Crystal was too busy to speak to me."

"I was told my new glasses might take a week for my eyes to adjust. I spent two weeks with headaches on and off the whole time. This optometrist never even contacted my wife after she called to complain about her new glasses. Rather than return to wrestle with a solution, I went to have another eye exam with a different optometrist which resulted in a prescription quite different from my Advanced Eye Care one. Received my new Walmart glasses two days ago and have had no trouble. We were not impressed."

"My eyeglass prescription from Advanced Eye Care was incorrect. I underwent a complete eye examination and gave them my current glasses and a copy of my previous prescription. My new glasses were made at another optometrist (they could not manage in time) according the new prescription. I only noticed the error when I tried the new glasses on. The cost of the new glasses was $700 but were useless. Multiple emails were sent to AEC with limited response. On comparing the old and new prescription it was clear thar the new prescription was weaker. Oddly AEC is was one of the most expensive optometrists in Durango. I had limited time and they were the only office I could make an appointment's with and I now I know why. My advice is to book your exam at the neighboring Wallmart if you are not in a rush or High Country Optical who for no additional cost made me new lenses according to my old prescription at no extra cost. The response to my review from the owner suggests that I should contact them. I have contacted them both by phone and email multiple times. That the owner was not aware of this demonstrates their customer service attitude. Though I know they will never reimburse me for the total loss I suffered at least I hoped they would compensate me for the exam which they have not despite written and oral requests. Had High Country not remade the lenses for free my losses would have been well over $1,000."

"Worst eye care visit I've ever had and I've been seeing eye doctors for 28 years! They forgot to order my gas permeable contacts for over a month and a half and made me feel dumb for calling 3 different times to see why they were taking so long. I have an eye disease and couldn't work or barely leave the house for 2 months waiting for contacts! When the contacts arrived nobody was there to facilitate in the fitting of the contracts, nor did they give me any soaking solution or cleaning solution for them or even offer any kind of resolution for their mistakes. If customer service and quality care are what your looking for DO NOT come here!"

Top-notch examination technology helped me "see" where my eyes are, what I need now, and what to anticipate in the future. Their administrative team was hospitable and expertly applied insurance benefits. Opticians provided great information about frames and lenses (Don was competent, fun, interesting and customer-service par excellence). Appointments can be three-weeks out, so call ahead! Reliable. Trustworthy. Comprehensive care for eyes."
