My son had been super pumped up to try this class and when we got there- he just got super nervous. The teachers were SO SO incredibly kind and kept trying to engage my son even though he wanted none of it. He finally came around and tried it. Very responsive and helpful via email. Very clean. We will definitely be trying more classes here."

"J W Kim Taekwondo has been on our way home from daycare for years, so I kept an eye out for when my kid was old enough for the "Little Dragons" class. In non-Covid times, the class schedules and options are flexible and it's so easy to fit in with the rest of our crazy life. During Covid, we were incredibly impressed at the understanding, creative solutions, flexibility and speed at which Master Mike and the whole school moved to address the changing circumstances. Since then we've also started our two younger kids and both my husband and myself. It's so good for the kids - they're building on those developmental gross motor skills without even realizing it. And working things like courtesy, integrity, perseverance, indomitable spirit and self-control into their daily routines helps them grow in all those non-physical developmental skills too! For us as adults, it's a significant investment but it's cheaper than therapy AND a gym membership :-) And as a mom with 3 small kids, having a healthy outlet to kick things and yell really loudly is priceless! In all seriousness, Grandmaster Kim and Master Mike and all their instructors have built a really special community here, where all are welcome - from those who are incredibly athletic to those of us who groan every time we stand up from the couch - and somehow manage to challenge each of us to our own capabilities. As Master Pat says, "Everyone's Taekwondo journey is different" and J W Kim Taekwondo is a great guide for all of those journeys. Any day with a little bit of TKD in it is better than a day without :-)"

"Love this place! My daughter can't wait for class. The instructors are amazing. They are very knowledgable, and they truly care for all of the kids. The student to child ratio is awesome. My daughter has learned so many great values and feels such pride in herself whenever she is able to get a stripe or a new belt. Couldn't be happier here!"

"I have been a longtime student and am now also an instructor at JW Kim TKD. I love the "vibe" in the classes: serious martial arts and serious fun, too! Grand Master Kim and head instructor Master Mike keep the standards and expectations very high while meeting students wherever they are physically and mentally and encouraging their growth in a way appropriate to their abilities. One thing that I really appreciate lately about working and working out at JW Kim: their implementation of protocols during the pandemic that make it possible for all students to participate with confidence. "My 6 and 7 year olds have been attending for over a year and LOVE it! As a parent, I know very little about the martial arts, and quickly grew to appreciate the passion, discipline and life lessons they've learned through Tae Kwon Do. Master Mike does an amazing job running the dojang, and when Grandmaster Kim ran my daughter's make-up white belt test, I knew we'd found a gem.
