Lone Tree Elementary School

"My daughter is in the third grade, having spent K-3 at Lone Tree. This school is run by the most incredible Principal I have ever witnessed in any school. She is involved and caring and wants to provide an environment where kids feel safe and welcome to express who they are. My daughter came home from school today with a book full of wonderful and kind things her classmates wrote about her - every single one was about her character, not her looks or the things she has. This school teaches kindness and compassion as well as promoting learning that is tailored to what each child needs. If I could give more stars, I would."

"My child was bullied everyday at this school and nothing was done about it. She was shoved off the monkey bars by 4 boys and nothing happened, then she was kicked in the back by the same boys and she came home with a huge bruise on her lower backside. My daughter would come home everyday dirty and hair a mess, she didn't tell me right away she was being bullied. She thought they were her friends and she didn't want to get them in trouble. My daughter isn't a fighter and she is well behaved. I had to replace her water bottles a lot, because the kids were knocking them out of her hands and smashing them on the floor. I could never figure out where and why the Teacher would only see certain things happening. My final decision to remove before I filed suit and charges against the school for negligence was when my daughter was pushed down on her head and is now suffering from a mild concussion. The worst school and principal ever. After investigating and speaking to other parents going through the same experience, I found the Bullies parents were one of many that were sending gifts to the Principal. Very sad. They only care about the money and gifts they receive from some of the parents. I rate them a -100."

"My child has attended LTE for 4 years, and has been in 4 schools through elementary school. This was by far the worst. The Principal, Mindy Percichina, does nothing to help with bullies, health safety precautions, and doesn't take care of her staff. I have seen 9 staff members walk out out in 4 years. She makes the teachers do more than what they are being payed for. One of the art teachers who was there for 1/2 a school year was forced to do playground duty during there break times. She is moving on to a different school now. One of my daughter's best friends was deathly allergic to nuts, and it took Mindy 3 years to enforce a rule about a "no nut zone", in the lunch room, after the girl had an allergic reaction. She is also a bully backer. She has close relationships to some families. I was telling her how one student was physically abusing others. I told her how my daughter is quiet and NOT a drama queen she replied, "Those are the ones who usually turn out to be a bully." Switching my daughter to RHMS, and the other one to valor was the best disision I ever made. But Cresthill is another story."
