"AJ has been nothing but difficult to deal with and has continually lied to us about deadlines, what the contract we signed with him includes, and has initiated a lien against our house despite him not being able to finish the work. He will claim he tried to contact us but we have not received a single email or phone call asking about the status of payment, we have never said we wouldn't pay and actually mailed the check to him prior to being served a lien notice. The deposit schedule he will claim is industry standard but it is not. Receiving the amount he demands upfront gives no incentive to finish the project, no contractor expects 90% before the works starts. There are plenty of kitchen cabinet companies who treat their clients with more respect and take responsibility for errors they commit. AJ also claims to be able to do everything for their customers, however the day his crew showed up there was a laundry list of items that we could either pay him extra for or take care of ourselves. After nearly 8 months (he told us during the sales process it would be 6-8 weeks) the project is still not done. The product itself is fine, but AJ is not someone who I would recommend doing business with. If you elect to use Kitchen Tune Up I would explore other providers including other Kitchen Tune Up franchisees."
