"Pay for years for protection incase of emergency to find out it takes 4 months to receive partial benefits. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Even the doctor is shocked by the lies told by account manager and the total refusal to assist."

"Really unprofessional.had to claim workers comp because their store had a worker attack me. Denied my claim for no reason. Basically zero customer service. This company should go bankrupt. They mishandled everything and dont care if youre hurt. Id give them 0 out of 5 if it would let me. I hope the hartford goes under and everyone there loses their job"

"It's an insurance company. No speeding tickets, no DUIs, no accidents until I drove into a parking garage and scraped the roof of my service van. The Hartford sent me a check for $1,800 or so and then proceeded to raise my rates that will repay them that much, in less than a year. Of course my rates will probably stay the same, even after they get their money back. The only people that get good rates here are folks in retirement homes that their car never leaves the garage."

"I was hit by one of their employees (she backed into my car). She got out and started cussing my mom and I out insisting it was our fault and even called my mom a c**t although she had nothing to do with the accident. The cops eventually came and said it was her fault and she continued to be rude. Dealing with the claim since has been awful. They never return phone calls and my case is locked (since it was an employee) so a general representative cannot help me. I have been trying to get a rental car for over a week now with no calls being returned or acknowledged. I have been hit in the past & there are way better insurance companies out there who actually take care of their responsibilities. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!! You will be glad you did."

"Horrible insurance company!!!!!!! Do not get insurance with the Hartford, I am self employed and had workmans comp with the Hartford for 2 full years and when one of my employees was hurt on the job and couldn't work. I made a claim and a couple months later when my policy was about to expire they decided not to renew my policy. So they kicked me off for using my insurance. Why provide insurce to someone and charge them a premium but kick them off when they use it? And since they declined my renewal it was very hard to find another company that would accept my request for workmans comp. Thats what I get after 2 years of loyalty. They really don't care about their customers."
