"My wife and I have been going to Dr. Ellis for about two years. About seven months ago I switched companies that led to switching dental insurance. I called in before my appointment with my new information to see if I would still be covered at Dr Ellis office. The front desk told me that they verified my insurance and to come in for a cleaning. Trusting that my insurance was verified I went in for my cleaning. Last week I received a call from the front desk. She told me that I owed $150 for my last cleaning and my insurance didn't go through. She offered me a discount on the amount but I felt that they should cover the cost since I was told my insurance was verified. They even had my new insurance card on file. Immediately the front desk became defensive and told me she was going to send the full amount to a collections agency and hung up on me. I then decided to drive to the office and sort out the debacle. In person I asked the front desk if I could speak to Dr Ellis before they involved a collections agency. She then said that Dr Ellis will call me when he can and I was now harassing the office and threatened to call the police. She also told me that it is not the job of the front desk to verify my insurance and they do it as a courtesy. I have never been treated like this before. I suspect that the front desk made an error verifying my insurance and was covering her tracks. I believe the situation could have been rectified by Dr. Ellis but I never received a call. I would not be surprised if he was never told to call me. I had no issues with the quality of work by the hygienists or Dr. Ellis. They are nice people and they treated me well. My only issue would be with the front desk. I plan on drafting a letter to the Insurance Commissioner (Michael Conway) and filing a complaint with the Colorado Dental Association."

Dr Ellis is personable and literally " the singing dentist". Everyone at the office made me feel like I was welcomed and wanted. I'm happy I made the change.
