About the Business
The George J. Meyers Swimming Center, also known as Meyers Pool, is a 50-meter aquatics facility located at 7900 Carr Drive in Arvada, Colorado. Owned by the city of Arvada and operated by the Apex Park and Recreation District, this regional facility caters to a wide range of users, from swim lessons to competitive events to recreational lap swimmers. The facility is home to the North Jeffco Swim Team and five Jeffco Public Schools high school swim teams.
Due to ongoing construction, the current parking lot is closed, and all parking and drop-offs must occur in the south lot. Accessible parking is available, and staff can provide transportation via golf carts for those in need. Swimmers must have a Master's pass or pay a drop-in fee, with no reservations required. Check-in is required upon arrival.
The city of Arvada, Apex Park and Recreation District, and Jefferson County Public Schools are working together to replace the current facility with a new 50-meter natatorium swimming center. The project is in the early planning phase, with public outreach opportunities available for those interested in receiving more information. "This is a great training facility for swimming and diving. It's a bit dated, and in-line for a refresh in the next couple years. There are about 20x 25 yd lanes usually available, plus a diving well with 3x 1 m and 3x 3 m."
"They hire great teenage swimming instructors. Classes are a little crowded. No family bathrooms, just single-sex. Makes dressing 6 and 7 year olds difficult. Bring a chair, bleachers are not comfortable."
