"The procedure for the EKG was fine but getting the results sent to the primary physician was like searching for the Holy Grail by going through God personally. Even though they are a Mercy Clinic and the GP is a Mercy physician this seemed to be an impossible task for this clinic. They also would not give the results over the phone. Three weeks have passed and they continue to keep the results to their office and not share. It continues to be a great mystery as to if I am alive or not. I do not recommend them at all. Oh, and try not calling as you will be on hold for a minimum of 15 minutes."

"I had a wonderful experience with MercyOne Iowa Heart in West Des Moines. The front desk staff was friendly, attentive, and answered all my questions. The tech that performed my CT scan explained every step of the process prior to and during the procedure. Dr. Jared Routh was amazing, listened to my concerns, provided options, made sure I understood everything, and was compassionate. Highly recommend this establishment."

"Dr. Rough is inconsiderate and has absolutely no bedside manner. Barely introduced himself before lifting my gown to do his exam. I didn't get to talk about my concerns, my history, or the full complexities of my symptoms. He blamed a medication I've been on for less than 2 years for symptoms I've had for 18 years. He also commented, several times, on how I need to lose weight. Had he listened, he would know I often faint during strenuous activities. The nurse? I can't even comment because she didn't talk to me about anything other than verifying my medications. The most awkward experience. I cannot speak for other providers, but I would not recommend Dr. Rough to anyone who wants to be listened to."

"I am a heart patient at IA health. I have to call in to Ia Health to ask them to approve my prescription every time it runs out. I have to do this because they don't respond to Walgreens refill request. I spend 10-15 min. on the phone everytime I call. I then worry that my meds will not be filled. Today I talked to Karen around 9a.m. and she assured me she would send a rush order in since overdue. I told her I would call back if not done. (Karen was nice and professional on the phone.)Then she assured me again. So guess what. They didn't do there job again. So I call back around 3 p.m. and got Shelli. She told me that they were with patients and would forward again to the rhythm center. I explained that I was also a patient. I asked shelli why time after time they let me go without my heart meds? And I told her I would like to talk to supervisor or someone in charge, or to provide me a contact #. I asked how to get ahold of my nurses, rhythm center, or my doctor CRAIG HOFFMAN, or DR. HOYT. She told me there was no one I could call and talk to but her. I then explained how I thought this was terrible practice to let me go with out my heart meds. She said "Oh my God in disgust and hung up on me. As of completion of this review, my scripts still not sent in to Walgreens. FRUSTRATED!"

"I was treated absolutely horrible, the representative was absolutely 100% rude. She argued with me, and hung up one me. The hospital in which the cardiologist travels to, to see patients stated that this heart center location is to make the appointments, this location denied it, and refused. I was sent back and forth between both locations 4x. The representative here should be reprimanded for how she treats and speaks to patients. It left my heart racing, and caused unneeded stress. I’m completely shocked by the behavior of your staff member. As you can tell by the below comments and reviews of other patients, I am not the only patient who has had unpleasant experiences."
