"Whatever you do, AVOID SHELTER INSURANCE as a whole, and this agent in particular. My parents have been loyal customers for nearly 40 years, and have not had a single homeowner's or auto claim in YEARS, if ever. Yet when a water issue arises because of a broken washing machine, their adjuster makes a comically low ball estimate. After walking through the home going over damage (and him pointing out damage I even missed) he failed to include numerous items on his estimate - EVEN THOUGH HE ADDRESSED THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! When you try to contact him OR THE AGENT back via email or phone - RADIO SILENCE - NOTHING! Finally had to set an appointment with agent where she promised to look into it and help - another week goes by of course where I hear nothing so of course, I again have to initiate contact where she says I spoke to someone, and everything you need to do was in your paperwork. Ok fine, but could you not have called or emailed me and told me BEFORE I again had to contact you? Of course not. Look, there are SO many other issues (Like making the ridiculously small check they did send out to my DECEASED FATHER - which the agent had know about for a year when we discussed policies) but I'm sick of typing and wasting time with a clearly incompetent or worse, indifferent and unresponsive agent and a company that has ZERO professionalism or even basic customer service skills unless another policy adding to their commission is on the horizon - JUST AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!"
