Capitol Hill Apartments

"I was a resident in these apartments for about 3 years during which there was a flooding incident in 2014 where water was leaking down from the roof into the rooms. Even with the 12th floor between my room and the rooftop as a buffer, the leaking was so bad that the entire room was flooded like a kiddie pool. The flooding and cleanup was a completely documented process involving the staff there at that time, manager Jennifer Watts, and the damage was such that it required Capitol Hill staff to call in professional cleaners to suction out the water and assist with the cleaning. Capitol Hill did not replace the carpet which still had tears and discolorations from the flooding, but assured me that I would not be responsible for any of the damages. Well jump forward to the end of my lease and the Capitol Hill staff in 2016 billed me for the damages well after I had already left. I suppose they were emboldened since they did not have to harass me face to face: it was a complete 180 and they ignored not only the fact that I was victim to their faulty roof and incurred significant damage to my own property, but that this situation had been resolved years ago by their own staff. They ignored or would talk over me even when presented with evidence showing Jennifer Watts had resolved the issue and eventually threw the so called "debt" to collections. At the time I was still in school and inexperienced and so was intimidated into paying this false debt. Now, having been a full fledged adult for many years now with professional experience, I truly realize that Capitol Hill's conduct then was truly unacceptable, incredibly immoral, and unprofessional. Although the past cannot be changed, I hope that this review can help others get a clear picture of Capitol Hill as a 0 out of 5. If anyone reading this is getting bullied by Capitol Hill or in any other similar situation, I urge you to get a lawyer and do not let them prey on your inexperience."

"I have been a loyal resident at capitol hills apartment for 2 years. I took over another tenants lease during the summer and my room was never repainted or had the carpet cleaned when I took over the lease. There was a wine stain from the previous tenant that I mentioned to the office so I would not be charged at the end of my lease. I got a call from the office last week asking if I wanted to end a month early and let a new tenant move in and I was happily willing to do so. We agreed for me to move out on Sunday the 26th. I came in Thursday to sanitize the apartment and move out my things. I had a few things leftover and decided to do it Saturday since my official move out date was Sunday. On Friday, I received a call asking if they can inspect the place and clean the carpet for the new tenant. I was asked if I wanted the belongings that are still in the apartment and I specifically said "YES"!! I still had many shampoos, conditioners, a physics binder, Clorox wipes, a sanitizer spray bottles, towels, and more. The office claimed they did me a favor by cleaning the wine stain without charging me but I did report the stain when I moved in but it seems like they forgot or neglected to add it to the records. The day after, I went to my apartment Saturday to move the last minute things that I had left and found that all my belongings were trashed and my hangers were thrown in a box ( some were even broken). When I tried to complain, they said that it was "a misunderstanding" on their part and that maintenance thought I had already moved out. Upper management did not communicate properly to their staff, therefore I am paying the price by having damaged properties. Their way of resolving the problem was by taking out my property from the trash can and sanitizing it for me. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone. The staff is reckless and have no empathy or respect to their tenants or the tenants' property. I am very disappointed and in disgust by what happened. I listed pictures below for proof."

"Love here and love the staff. They are friendly and helpful. The other tenants are friendly and make you feel at home. Love the on sight laundry room and the study room/gathering room. Very clean place. I read someone say it's a little small...well it is a studio apartment so it would be small....lol"

"I lived there for a little over 2 and a half years, and I LOVED my apartments!! I lived on one of the upper floors for a year and a half and on the 1st floor for about a year and some change. It was close to where I worked at the time, my husband moved in with me when we got married and it was just a wonderfully cozy way to start our marriage. We sometimes drive past the place and reminisce about the fun things we did while living there. TBH we could easily retire there in the future. Maintenance was always pretty fast, the management staff was easy to work with for whatever our needs were and I always felt safe there. Great for inner city living too. We could walk to the old market in less than an hour. There was always something to do on the Creighton campus and Central high school had football on Friday nights during the school year. Rent was super affordable, and utilities were included in that price."
