"The course was amazing and in great condition. The guy behind the counter (didn’t catch his name) in the pro shop was rude and annoyed that our group didn’t have many experienced golfers and proceeded to keep jumping groups in ahead of us because we were going to be “slow” but we ended up waiting to hit most of the round anyway. And lastly the carts weren’t in good condition. The park brakes wouldn’t hold the carts from rolling down hills and one of our carts could barely climb itself up hills without being pushed."

"Nice course, well kept with very fast greens. Hardest course near the lakes hands down. If you can't hit it straight it will be a rough day. A lot of trees everywhere on all holes and elevation changes throughout."

"We just had a wonderful wedding reception for my grandson here. What a nice facility.The daytime staff was very accommodating , helpful, and kind. Do not know what happened to their nigjt bartenders, but it was not good, unfriendly, sarcastic, not a smile on their face. But we made it thru the night, they were very rude, "you can't leave this place like this, you have to put EVERYTHING away"! Pro shop was clean ,only a few tables, coffeepo,etc were left.First we were told we could clean and pick up everything in the am.instead of being rude, couldn't they explain, no they couldn't, cause they were rude all night, like we were putting them out. We were the grandparents, not responsible for clean up! Also I was charged $11.50 for Michelob can, 3.25, glass of $5.50, and soda $?. Is soda $2.75 a glass? They were also rude to my sister serving the food "dont put too much food in there,we have to use this walkin too"' she was taking food out!!! We had everything in before.Never would I recommend this place with this kind of employees. By the way, I have owned a bar/restaurant and worked in that field most of my adult life. We were also very good tippers"

"Emerald Hills is a championship track, with many tee settings, from junior players to the tips. The tree-lined fairways make the course challenging, but the layout is fair, with generous fairway width and great greens that hold your ball and roll true. The course is the busiest in the Iowa Great Lakes, which is saying something, because Okoboji has a fine selection of golf courses. As a local, I would recommend playing at some non-traditional times. The afternoons and evenings are perfect, with the morning players clearing out. You will want to finish up by 5:00 on Wednesdays and Thursdays - their largest league nights. Randy Rohlfsen is the PGA Pro and is a one-of-a-kind ambassador for the Iowa Great Lakes and the golfing community. He and his staff are unbelievably accommodating, inclusive, professional, and just plain fun! I don't normally take the time to rate businesses, but Emerald Hills is a can't miss venue, while at Lake Okoboji!"
