American National Bank

"I have been Banking with ANB for a while now and I definitely feel they are no longer a customer care institution. I recently purchased a new vehicle and have another on a loan through them. I simply asked to put my vehicle in storage meaning it will still be fully cover just won't be driven and this would save me nearly 700$ in insurance. The lady I spoke with asked well how do I know you won't drive the vehicle. Well I said I have had a home loan through you and a vehicle loan through you and never missed a payment in years I have sent over my insurance information showing the cover on stored vehicle and driven vehicle I gave the information to my insurance person said call never had a claim in 10yrs they have never had to pay out an accident or have any tickets. So she said she would get back to me and after a few hour was told no we will not allow you to do the storage on the vehicle. What happened to being a valued client or customer this to me tell me I have no value here my business is not wanted. I genuinely was saving myself 700$ and my vehicle was still fully covered. I think if you want to have a place the values your business and wants to help you on different loans or financial goals I would look at all your options. To me I feel I have had a lot of money and loans through this bank but a valued client is not what they want just the money we bring in."

"Wasn't going to leave a review but got a letter in mail that my house payment is late and I am sure they reported that to my credit company. However we sent in a check & money order for whole August amount. First call to American National Bank lady tells me to call the money order company, who wants $15-$30 to track the money order down, so then I remembered I also wrote a check so I check my bank, which isn't this bank by the way and there is my check cashed by this American National Bank on the 11th it cleared. So I call a second time and ask them if they cashed my check, where is the large portion, the money order, where is it? American National Bank then tells me, they don't have the check or money order and that my payment is late. Excuse me but I sent in the check and money order and on time. American National Bank lost my whole house payment. Here we are on the 22nd of August and they still have no idea where the money is. What is going on? This isn't acceptable. I want the bank to find my payment I sent in then report to my credit company that the payment was received on time and an apology for the week long hassle and all the work I have had to do for the banks error would be nice."

"This is just a general review for ANB. I just got off the phone with them about an issue. I get a call back saying that their new “system” doesn’t allow checks to go thru for two business days pretty much. So I worked for twos weeks got paid and now I’m being told that I have to wait a whole weekend to get the money via debt card even tho I earned that money. I can only go to their tellers and withdraw money till Monday. Not everyone has time within your hours to grab money like that in person. I will be closing my account now because of this debacle/change. Seems ignorant and irresponsible for a bank to hold peoples money like that. Not everyone gets paid via direct deposit. Shame on you for holding MY MONEY"

"I understand this bank had a major update and today, May 17, was the first day back after being unavailable all last week. So today, I spent probably 4 hours trying to access my account to pay bills. The phone number at the Dodge location rang about 15 times, then I just got a dial tone. This happened approximately 5 times. I called other branches and they transferred me to "customer service," where I got varying messages . . . the last message said, "Your wait time is over two hours." I am not sure what is going on, but this is totally unacceptable. I would prefer not to put my money in the "large" banks and rather stay local, but this was ridiculous."

"Pay to make a payment!? The only good thing about this place is the response time to emails. I wanted to pay my loan off, but to do it online I can only do $2000 at a time, for a $15 fee. I could have easily called in to pay it, but they'd charge me $10. I used my bank to have them send it electronically, for free. I wouldn't recommend this bank to Satan."
