Children's Physicians, UNMC

"I will be posting a 2 part experience with MULTIPLE reviews. I have been with Children’s Physicians since the birth of my children in 2017, 2018, & 2019. Since then I have been to every appointment on time excluding one last year where I was told to call if you’re going to be late so we can adjust everyone that’s already there and you could only be 15 minutes late. Perfect. I was in valet so we were only 5 minutes late. Fast forward to Monday…I was 8 minutes late and had called prior to coming in saying I was in the garage running behind. The person who answered said that’s fine just come in and we will see what we can do. I get there and there’s a mother 2 MINUTES LATE!! Being scolded by the MALE DOCTOR that her child has come to see!! She is being lectured by the door and asked all kinds of questions as to why she was 2 minutes late. Her reasons were valid as ALL PARENTS encounter tardiness due to many things scheduled in a day whether it be games, after school programs, school, WORK!!, and possible delays in all things mentioned previously. But a scolding for 2 minutes late??? I know this since the old blonde woman in the front with glasses said “you’re 2 minutes late, I’ll see what we can do” and walks back to the enclosed area behind a wall. It’s my turn in line. By this point I KNOW I won’t be getting in if she’s being turned away for 2 minutes. I mention to the same woman that walks back to deny her entry and give her the last name. She immediately says with her eyes SO HIGH AND DEMEANOR CLEARLY IRRITATED that “oh your appointments were canceled, we called and left a message on your kids portal.” Here I am using an entire HALFS DAY worth of time off to be told the doctor has called in due to a sick child. The NERVE. So I check my portal, which not everyone has assess to, and see that they had made me aware less than 24 hours away. There was no attempt to reschedule???? And no voicemail was left! A simple text would have also sufficed! UNMC Children’s is turning SO many people away, the doctor taking his morning to scold the mother could have used his time wisely and seen my 2 children!! It is very clear to me at this point that they pick and choose when they feel like working. I don’t know what happened to the Hispanic man and female that were at the front and who took the time to hear your concerns but the two women ESPECIALLY the old woman with blonde hair and glasses that would have all those lines on her forehead if she wasn’t always in a mad combative mood are WORTHLESS and we are in the process of changing our children’s doctor. This one woman alone and the new revolving staff in this office who are NOT child friendly have left us with a bad taste so much so that we are branching OUTSIDE of the Children’s Physicians branch because I’m sure it will be the same at any Children’s office at this point."
