"Not sure why they would sell/ship fireplace that is incomplete but here I sit without a working fireplace? I ordered the FireIn weeks ago only to learn, an hour before installation, that the logs weren't included in the shipment. It'll be a nice Christmas huddled around the cardboard boxes instead of a fire. Santa will probably trip over the boxes and won't be able to deliver any presents after coming to my house. Can't say I'd recommend doing business with them, not sure I understand their "logic" (why ship/sell an incomplete item? It does me no good) Why not tell the customer/dealer when placing the order? Poor experience/customer service (filled out their form, might as well have deleted it)."

"We had a Mendota FV33i Decor installed in November 2017. Almost 3 years exactly after installation (but not 3 years in terms of usage), the gas valve needs replacing. This is not covered under their lifetime warranty and their customer service department just stated in reply to our email regarding the problem that we were past the 1 year warranty period. While we realize that wear and tear is inevitable, it seems that this product/manufacturer is not the high-quality investment we were led to believe it was. Maybe all such products and manufacturers are similarly problematic however, we cannot recommend this brand of gas insert."
"Having a terrible experience with my Mendota fireplace. Pilot light not working properly. Can’t get fixed. Service been here twice. After service visit today flame control no longer works. Frustrating. Wanted to call mendota directly but no phone number. May get it replaced with competitor if they can’t get it repaired."
