UnityPoint Clinic Pediatrics - Hiawatha

"Kristin DeVore is a wonderful pediatrician and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for care for their children. She listens to me and my concerns about my children and she has SOOOOO much patience with them. Once, my son had to have a covid test and he was scared and hid under the chairs and she got down on the ground, took the time to listen to why he was scared, did the test on herself first to show him that it wasn't anything to be scared of, then asked him what he needed to make him feel safe while doing the test. How many doctors can you say would do something like that? She has forever gained both mine and my sons trust and that is worth so much in these times. Their office does take Medicaid, the Iowa Health and Wellness Plan, and they make billing super easy. I am on my kid's Mychart as their guardian so I get emails reminding me about appointments and when they are due for shots or tests, it's insanely convenient. But, honestly, Dr. Kristin DeVore is phenomenal and we wouldn't switch for any reason."

"Incredibly frustrating to have dr’s who do not abide by scheduled appointments. I understand 15, 20 minutes behind because things happen. But over 30 minutes without an answer is absurd. If a patient did that, they’d be rescheduled and probably charged a fee for the “missed” appointment."

"We absolutely love Dr. Stromert and her nurse, Lindsay (I believe is her name) They treat your children like their own. Always exceed expectations and are willing to go above to ensure the kids are taken care of. It is a great feeling to know your kids actually get excited to go to the dr. So glad we found such an amazing team to care for our children."

"Set up an appointment over phone and was told the appointment time was 2:50. We arrive at 2:40 and start to get checked in and the lady at the desk told me our point was at 2:15 and not 2:50. She asked if I got the confirmation text for the appointment and I said no I did not even though I told the lady over the phone my name and phone number and that I was the one going to be bringing her in for her appointment. So I wasted my time getting off of work early and running home to get my child to bring her to the appointment when all they had to do was send me a confirmation text to verify the time. I was told that they cannot switch the phone numbers every time they send out a confirmation text even though I had stated I was the one bringing her in to the appointment and also gave my phone number over the phone. Not very professional on their end."

"I wrote a review for Hiawatha Pediatrics a couple of years ago, but it has recently been renamed to UnityPoint Clinic Pediatrics Hiawatha recently, so I wanted to update my review. First, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge all of the wonderful providers and staff at UnityPoint Clinic Pediatrics. They are all great people who genuinely seem to enjoy children and their job. We typically see our primary care provider, but whenever we've had to see other providers, we've been very pleased with the quality of care they give our children. Our primary provider is Barb Neitzel-Sneider and, quite simply, we are thrilled to have her as our children's pediatrician. We have been seeing her at Hiawatha Pediatrics/UnityPoint Clinic Pediatrics since 2010. As one would expect of a medical professional, she clearly "knows her stuff." But more than that, Barb has a wonderful personality and takes the time to make our children feel comfortable with her before she proceeds with their checkups. She also takes the time to discuss various treatment options with us and always answers our questions; we never feel rushed to "get a script and get out." And on numerous occasions, she has gone what I consider to be above and beyond the normal call of duty. Perhaps the example that stands out the most for me is when Barb voluntarily came to the hospital after my son was born to perform his first check-up, even though she was on vacation that day. I was incredibly touched. I have never seen someone who was so clearly born to be a pediatrician. I cannot recommend Barb more highly! :)"
