"If it wasn’t for Dr. Moeller being an amazing doctor, I’d give this hospital a 1 star rating instead of 2. Lately, I’ve had bad experiences with the receptionists and a nurse. In one instance, when I had to cancel and reschedule a NST during my pregnancy cause it conflicted with my nursing school schedule; the receptionist at radiology asked me if my doctor knew I was cancelling my appointments. Totally none of her business and unprofessional. Then recently a nurse stopped us at the door and said we couldn’t be seen if we didn’t have insurance for our 4 day old newborn yet. This is not the nurse’s job and none of her business regarding insurance otherwise she should be in the financial department instead of a nurse. Considering on changing hospitals although it’d be tough to not go to Dr. Moeller anymore."

"I broke my wrist a few weeks ago. I just wanted to get it looked at by a healthcare professional. To my horror, the ER “doctor” (Lee Kamstra) appeared agitated and distracted upon arrival. He had a series of angry outbursts, bent my fingers to cause pain in retaliation when I expressed that I was unhappy with his inability to respond to my concerns. I also have reason to believe that he discussed my situation with an unqualified third party without my knowledge or consent and wrote patently false information in my chart notes to cover up his misconduct. I spent that night writhing in pain until I could get a ride to Sioux City for surgery."

"My grandpa had to go to the ER for serious medical complications. The ER front desk people were nice, however, they treated this as not an emergency. We waited for 10 minutes to be brought in. When we did get in, the two EMTs were the worst people. They didn’t want to be at work, they didn’t introduce themselves, they weren’t kind, and they treated my grandpa like he was stupid. I work in healthcare and I have not seen someone treat a patient so poorly. My grandfather is hard of hearing, and these two individuals knew this. They still didn’t speak up. They did not explain anything they were doing and clearly hated their work lives. And the equipment looks like it’s been here since WW2. The computer, first of all, should be able to move from the desk so the nurses and whoever else can be next to the patient, looking at them, and so it’s easier to hear. Second, introductions are just standard practice. Third, explain all of your procedures and plans to the patient. It’s not that hard to take the time to make sure a patient knows what’s going on. That’s your job. Do it correctly. Kindness matters. ."

"ER front desk lacked empathy, professionalism and helpfulness when it came to assistance. It really seemed like they just hated their job, why work where you help people if you don’t want to. Physicians and RN’s were very helpful though!"

"I don’t care much for hospitals, but if I had to go to one it would be Orange city area health! The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable! The birthing center people are top notch! The food is delicious, and comes in a timely manner. Glad my wife chose them!"
