"Very understaffed. Could not seat people for 20 minutes with many open tables due to lack of staff. Waitress Very Very rude. Every order was wrong. Gluten-free pancakes were not Gluten-free and had to bring out new pancakes. The new ones were flat and under cooked. The berry salad had zero berries. Was told we are out of fresh fruit. We love I hope it is our go to place but not this one."

"Me and my family of 3 went here and got nothing but stares. It was loud in the small walkway, but after we opened the second pair of doors, it got drop-pin quiet. Everyone stared at us in disbelief for some reason. My child wasn't screaming, we weren't loud and no one said anything to us. We waited 10 minutes to get seated. The servers stared at us walked past us and didn't seat us until a line was formed. When we finally got seated, the server had an attitude at the fact that we asked if we could choose where we sat. The family behind us got seated with menus and glasses of water and she didn't give us either. When we asked for them, she had another server do it and went to the back. We left when the entire backroom staff came out to stare at us. It was all so unprofessional. We felt like we were being watched. And quite frankly racist. We were the only colored family there, and we felt like the enemy. UPDATE: I spoke with the district manager and she assured me that this type of behavior is unacceptable. She extended her courtesy and made sure to apologize on behalf of the staff. Edited: After a week, I've realized that I was being told something to calm down. I was promised something and never received it. Once I changed my review, it was like everything that was said, didn't matter anymore. It's a done deal. I've experienced this more than twice in des moines."

"The food was pretty good. I ordered steak tips with egs and was a bit surprised with the fact that the steak was sweet. I have never had sweet steak like that. We were left alone until the waiter was ready to get us the check, and someone else brought our food out. Once he offered the check, I asked for to go containers, but was not offered a bag to transport them and had to track someone down and ask for one. I had to ask for steak sauce and another drink and more napkins one at a time because as soon as I would ask for one, the guy would literally turn and very quickly walk away before I could another word out. I would say if you want decent food but want to be left completely alone for the entire meal, then this is the place. I like some privacy and time to eat and relax, but I also like to be checked on and offered anything (drinks, sauces, etc) without having to beg for it."
