"Only down side is how dumb the placement of their faucets are in the bathrooms. You have less than an inch of space between the water and the back of the sink. It's another 8+ inches between the water and the front of the sink. Why? What the hell were they thinking? Just dumb. Whoever made that choice clearly just stopped caring about common sense"

"I had never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, but if they are all like this hotel, I will definitely try to stay at one again! The front desk staff was so friendly and welcoming, and probably the nicest I've experienced in awhile. And it was both the gentleman on Friday night and a separate gentleman Saturday morning. Both were fantastic. The hotel was clean and looked updated. The pool and hot tub were open, but sadly we did not have time to use either. The continental breakfast in the morning was great. They had the coolest pancake machine ever, hot premade omelets, bacon, different breads, yogurt, cereal, and cinnamon rolls. There was also hot coffee, hot water, and juices. Definitely a pretty decent breakfast. Our room was clean, didn't smell bad, and was at a nice comfortable temperature when we entered. The room had tons of hook for hanging things, tons of shelving, and even a fainting couch. The noise was never an issue here either which is a plus. Everything worked as it should and we never complained to each other about anything related to the room. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it!"

"This place used to be excellent but last couple visits the breakfast has been pretty terrible, not sure what happened. Compared to other Holiday Inn breakfasts, this one ranks near the bottom. Hopefully they get back on form soon, because they really did have a nice breakfast in the past."

"Earlier this month, October, 2023, I traveled, from Minnesota, to this Urbandale Iowa's Holiday Inn Express, on Merle Hay Road, with 46 other ladies on a 3 day motorcoach trip. we stayed here for two nights. I had seen some negative reviews before our trip and was alittle concerned. I must say, I was very surprised and impressed!! This hotel was far above average in every way, I would have to compare it to a hotel with a much higher room charge. They have recently remodeled the entrance area and it is lovely, with extra seating and very welcoming decorating. My room was very nice, clean and spacious, the bed very comfortable, the bedding high quality. The bathroom couldn't have been any cleaner, with product dispensers and high quality towels. The staff were also very pleasant and helpful. Our group had a buffet breakfast each morning that was very nicely done and very good, the food was prepared by Bennigan's, the on site restaurant. Most of our group ate there our first night, which was very good. I give them 5 stars overall!! Carol B"

"Mother/ daughter trip to the Midwest. This hotel was wonderful. There is a Culver's and Ruby Tuesday on the same street. Great location to visit things within driving distance. We went to the Capitol and to Center Grove Orchard. The hotel staff were professional and friendly. Our room was clean & comfortable. I highly recommend it."
