"I had a consultation with Lori about an adoption. We were thinking of hiring her for our birth mom, but ultimately decided not to because of distance. She was very knowledgable and friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my conversation with her and felt that she would be an extremely good attorney. However, I was very frustrated with the fees. Upon my first call, and talking to the receptionist, she informed me that any questions I had, would fall under a consultation, which was $100 for an hour. We decided to go ahead with it, and had our phone conversation with Lori. Looking at my phone history, it lasted 29 minutes. She talked with the birth mom afterwards, which I assumed would be included in that hour of time that we already paid for. It was not. We received a bill after the fact, charging us $59 for .2 hours talking to the birth mom. Again, we only spent 29 minutes of our initial hour's worth of consult. I would call to complain, but am afraid I'd get charged for that, as well. All of that to say, from speaking to her, and word of mouth, I know Lori is a highly competent lawyer. I would recommend her for that reason. But be prepared for possible hidden costs and ask detailed questions about fees."
