Stone State Park Campground and Lodge

"Pretty park, but not a great place to camp. We will not be coming back. Very small campground, no campground host. Sites are very small and close together. This is true for both electric/RV sites as well as the tent sites. We ended up being okay because the campground was relatively empty, but if it was full it would have not been a relaxing experience. Bathrooms were the worst we have encountered. No one expects campground bathrooms to be pristine, but soap and hand sanitizer would have been nice! We arrived Thursday evening and left Sunday and there was no soap or hand sanitizer in the bathrooms or pit latrine the entire time we were there. The backs of the toilets were caked in poop when we arrived and remained that way all weekend. The showers appeared to have mold on the walls. When workers came out, at most they replenished toilet paper and maybe swept the floors. Nothing else."

"Camped on a Monday and Tuesday night, very few people. If it were a weekend, I feel like the campsites are way too close and I wouldn't have enjoyed it much. Great fire pits with grates. Buy firewood before you come! Outhouse was normal - nothing scary. Had water spigots to use, which was very nice. The women's restroom was overall decent and clean - the shower I used had a showerhead that was so calcified it barely worked, but the other shower did. My boyfriend said the men's restroom was not decent, overall dirty and clearly being smoked in - several cigarette butts in the shower during our entire stay. Some really great trails you can get on from right in the campground."

"This is a very scenic place to camp and hike. They don't have very many camping spots available and only a few cabins so make sure you make a reservation in advance. It's very heavily wooded and the drive up to the campsites is very scenic because you're just under a canopy of trees on these winding roads. The bathroom and showers near the campsites was kept pretty clean. They have hot and cold water."

"A wonderful campsite and park. Two kinds of camping sites available, some with electricity and some without. Modern bathrooms and showers at the camping areas and lots of bathrooms dotted around the park. A playground for the kids and a big open field for them to run around in. The trails are beautiful and wind their way through the park, connecting different areas. Turtle Lake is gorgeous and has fish if you like fishing. Other wildlife include turtles, geese, deer, frogs, and lots of bird species. Lots of picnic areas and grills as well. A great place to camp or just spend the day."
