"I was referred by a local real estate agent to use Kina'ole Home inspections and let me tell you, he was great! There were no issues in making the appointment emailed the invoice in a timely manner. For our single family home, he scheduled the inspection at 10:30am and set the review at 2:30pm. Leon was sincere and professional and was very thorough when going over everything. Thankfully we had no major issues for our home but we really appreciated him pointing out things that we should keep an eye on in the future. "Buying a home on the Big Island sight unseen during Covid has been a bit nerve wracking. The realtor only shows you what they want you to see; understandably, their job is to sell houses. After a couple of video ‘tours’ we still did not have a complete picture of the condition of the home. With the clock ticking on the window for inspection, Leon was able to fit us in to his schedule the next day. He started the inspection by asking us if we had any special concerns; he then took us on a preliminary video tour focused on those specifics. He poked at deck boards, walls, and joists, showed us dangling wires, plumbing, and some less attractive parts of the lawn and garage. When we had finished, we logged off so that he could finish his detailed inspection. He worked late into 2 evenings inspecting every floor joist, post, beam, plumbing fixture, appliance, fan, light switch, outlet, etc. He provided a video update during the process. At the end of the the first day, Leon sent a draft report, and asked if we had any concerns so far. The second evening he finished the inspection and sent the final report. We reviewed the report and then had another video chat and close out, focusing on areas of our concern and areas of his concern. He was upfront about the overall condition of the house, including the ‘big picture’ as well as many details. As a result, we have contacted contractors and will have solid repair estimate in hand. As a result of Leon’s work, we now know exactly what we’re getting into, and can factor that into our final purchasing decision. I highly recommend Leon, especially if you’re In the same position of buying a home without being on island."

Having had several other inspectors in the past I had started believing that the inspector business was a hoax... they always found some excuse to not look in attics, on the roof and excuse to not inspect this or that...
