"It may be called a thrift store, but items are mostly priced at full retail. The CFO works in the building and sometimes on the floor, she is to be avoided at all costs... she is unpleasant to put it mildly. The store is very well organized, so things are easy to find. I've found that sometimes they will haggle with you on the prices if you're willing to put in the effort."

"So I stopped in at the habitat for humanity once or twice a week there is a helper/salesperson there name Stephanie she is awesome she is knowledgeable about what's on the floor what's in the back what's going to be put on the shelf and she's super eager to get you the best deal possible she always likes US veterans and the story is always fairly neat and always clean and being in Kona there is a let's say nicer selection of junk well I know that I have purchased many many things here and only hoping and wondering if t the money is going to the right place goes Anyway it's always an adventure and sometimes surprising of the things that they have"

"I tried to donate a car to them, left messages after message , had office staff say they would call back in 15 min , waited all day no one called back. I called back a few hours before closing, someone said they would call back before closing, that never happened. Waited the next day, no call back. Perhaps someone in the Kona office needs a brush up on customer etiquette. As much as I appreciate the work Habitat does, I feel customer service has declined over the years."

"I keep trying to go there and do my share to do the right thing. I donate and I buy things....but the prices are getting out of control. Today I saw some flooring that had the Home Depot sticker of 88 cents per square foot but the Habitat for Humanity price was twice as much. Their prices are based on ORIGINAL retail prices, not comparable prices. I brought it up to the nice lady working there but she said even though she agreed that it is their policy not to go lower. Their posted policy states to bring it up to them, so I did. All that I got out of it is that I was made feel guilty that I even spoke up. Just wanted to share... I feel the concept is great but the system could use some improvement."
