"Wow! This is a true wonder of mother nature. I cave cut into the lava rock right off the highway. You can tell that the ocean was this far inland at one time as there is sand in the cave which goes back at least 100 feet!"
"Nice beach to visit. It was nice to check out the cave. Bathrooms are not very nice but they are accessible. During the busy season traffic will get really bad as there are multiple one way merging points for entering and exiting."
"Wow!! OMG. What a beach. Best place to swim, Snorkel, see turtles in Kauai. My wife and I went to a few beaches on the south side of the island the previous day before exploring the north side and finding this beach. Wow. Seemed quite quiet for first week of December and waves were a little treacherous on the western portion of beach where the lifeguard tower was. We walked further east from the parking lot and saw and endless number of turtles (that we snorkeled with) swimming in 3-4 feet off water. I think the very low number of beach-goers was most surprising. Behind the parking lot is an incredible cave to explore!!"
"It was raining but still was one of the most beautiful beaches we visited with stunning clear blue waves and a gorgeous breeze. So magical and worth the cool drive through local neighborhoods. Definitely coming back here!"
"This is an amazing hike! We went all the way to the falls. The last 1/4 mile is really tough and tricky, you have to cross the rocky stream multiple times, and then scramble up and down an uneven, rocky, often muddy and slippery trail to reach the falls. It’s not for little children and I wouldn’t consider taking a baby on my back. But the effort is well with it if you are able to swim in the chilly pool through the flowing waters dropping from 300 feet above. Leave early. We started at 10:30, took our time and lots of photos, but barely made it back in time to catch the second to last shuttle at 5:30. A beautiful, memorable experience."
