Howzit Hostels

"Howzit was a great place to stay. I stayed in a 4-bed-female-dorm. The only thing that I missed was a small box with a lock for my valuables. Staff is super friendly and helpful, place is very clean. I liked a the mix of guests and the relaxed atmosphere. Location with a rental car is great to explore the entire island."

"Amazing hostel and very friendly stuff!! Super clean and they make fresh pancakes every morning. A huge bonus are the daily (mostly for free) tours all over the island that they offer. We did the Road to Hana Tour with them and it was great. Louis, our Tour Guide was an amazing driver and showed us stunning spots! Thank you so much!!"

"Cannot say enough good things about this place! Value for money is amazing with free breakfast every morning and trips around the island. Larissa was lovely and made the trips super fun! The whole atmosphere is super fun and social and the hostel is very clean and tidy. Just be aware that there aren't any lockers in the rooms so maybe leave valuables at home :)"

"I really had no idea what to expect. This was my first solo trip and my first time in a hostel, and I’m not going to lie… I was a bit anxious about the whole thing. The moment I stepped foot in the Howzit Hostel in Maui, I instantly felt safe and excited for my trip. I love the free excursions and everyone who I met was super kind and friendly. "This was my first time staying in a hostel and I loved it. Lodging on Maui is quite expensive but this place was very reasonably priced. My group stayed in one of the 3-bed private rooms. The private room is as the name suggests, its own space with a small closet and locking door (they give you a code at check-in). There was also a portable air conditioning unit that got the room quite cold (an extra blanket would have been good to have, but you have control of the unit and so I just turned it off). The common areas including the bathrooms were very clean and well-maintained. The front office staff was very helpful and friendly, and the chocolate chip pancakes in the morning were delicious. I was only staying in Maui for one night, but if I return in the future I would stay here again. The hostel hosts group activities on Maui that looked like a lot of fun. I also enjoyed the community vibe from hanging out in the common areas which also has a kitchen where you can prepare your own dinner (as others were doing). The parking was a bit tight, but I arrived early enough in the afternoon to park in the lot ($10/day) behind the building. Street parking is also available but seemed tight. Overall a tremendous value and wonderful experience."
