About the Business

Wupatki National Monument, located in Flagstaff, Arizona, is a unique park and tourist attraction that showcases the ancient Puebloan culture. Nestled between the Painted Desert and ponderosa highlands, this site was once a thriving community in the early 1100's, during a period of cooler and wetter weather. The park features the namesake Wupatki Pueblo with 104 rooms and a ballcourt, as well as the Lomaki Pueblo with a check dam highlighting the importance of water in the desert landscape. Visitors can also explore the three-story wall at Wukoki Pueblo and the Nalakihu Pueblo in front of the Citadel, the only pueblo to use basalt along with sandstone. These sites offer a glimpse into the history and culture of the indigenous peoples who once called this area home.

"Nice place where you can see up close some ancient pueblos. We have the 4th grader America the beautiful pass so we were able to get in for free and was definitely worth a quick visit. Not sure I'd pay for it. That said, if you're into history and this type of thing, it's a super cool place to check out. It's easy to access the pueblos even with kids"
"Absolutely amazing place. Highly recommend. Easy walks and small hikes to view ruins. Views are incredible."
"We there on Dec. 4. 2023 . This area my partner wanted to see back in April 2018. I am so glad we able to see this place . This such a great experience to see really pretty . If you are in the area you should check this out . On the say we there it about 1 of light left but we got some good pictures as the sun was setting ."
"Very informative at visitors center. The drive though pare was very easy and beautiful. You are able to view a lot with out strenuous walk."
"We had our senior annual pass, which was valid for this monument. According to a sign outside the visitor centre, it seems that if you’ve already paid for entry to Sunset Crater Volcano, you get entry here as well. Interesting looking ruins. You park at the visitor centre and there is a short walk to the site. There are other pueblos, but they are spread out and you’ll have to drive."
