I say boy and girl because they cant seem to speak like a man or woman. Both homothugs picked up the phone with an attitude and disinterest in their voices. The one star reviews are true, try some where else. Let them kick rocks."

"A Barber Named King Helped Me Adjust My Crown. Five Stars, 10/10. So kind, so thoughtful. Open for many decades, and you can tell they are protective of their space. My friend, a professional photographer, was unable to photograph inside the shop, but my support system (two friends) were able to sit and witness what felt like an incredibly raw, intimate experience for me. I felt a great weight, and returned home feeling lighter. After contemplating the idea for over a year, I woke up one morning while visiting Hawaii with inspiration from GriefLove to experience what Black women refer to as the "Big Chop". Sensitive about the experience, I intentionally googled Black owned Barbershop in Honolulu and came across "Flava and Da Wig Shop". I read the reviews which were mixed, and decided to call. The person on the phone shared walk-ins were first-come, first serve until 2:30pm local time, and it was about 1pm when I called. I arrived less than a half hour later, and two gentleman were standing outside the shop. They asked how they could help us, and after admiring my hair, one of the barbers (King) asked me, "Why do you want to cut your hair?" While the other barber protested my response - King smiled and opened the door to welcome us into the space. I remembered the review about someone slamming or locking the door in their face, and I wondered, "Had I passed some sort of test?" While I can't speak to others' experience, I can share - My experience in the shop was special. When King finished my cut, my beautiful curls laid in my lap for several minutes and he gave me the moment I needed. HE THANKED ME for being a part of my journey, and I cried. Really grateful. It's been 2 weeks today."

"Absolutely horrible. The method in which you wait is sooo unprofessional. If you are really really cool with the guy then he’ll skip everyone for you but if not then you’re getting skipped regardless if they’ve made an appointment or not. Don’t get me wrong the haircut is good but just all around worst experience tryna to even get one. Almost always only one singular barber. Making an appointment charges 5 extra, and you still get skipped. Absolute worst haircut experience never come to this establishment again."

"BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!! Any positive reviews are people are FAKE!! If I could score this place a 0 I would. The only reason I would go is because the haircuts are cheap & seats are empty but you see exactly why. The owner is RUDE & unprofessional not even a simple good morning and won’t give you any pricing over the phone on a normal haircut!! The salon owner will not allow you to look at anything in the Window and kick you out. You are not aloud to have phones out , play music , or even take a photo of your hair cut. The shop is weird & shady all around. Def not a place you want to go to coming to Hawaii to get your hair cut. Do not waste your time & energy. I rather pay $70+ any day than deal with these people."
