"Mean Girls 意地悪い少女たち Jan 2024 - This is the first time I have gotten home from a business, to realize that to my face - they seemed kind and smiling - yet when I look back on the experience, see where they were blatantly disrespectful to me. I'm rather surprised and saddened by this. AND on this visit, even though the haircut was free, I tipped the assistant $20 and Deanne $40 + $100 bad haircut = $160 total Let me explain: Since no one contacted me since my bad haircut last month, I reached out to Marsha Nadalin Salon to have them fix the haircut. The receptionist scheduled me to see the owner - Deanne the next day. When I came in, her assistant washed my hair. (the receptionist and assistant were genuinely kind). The assistant put me in the chair, and right away Deanna said, "I don't want to waste my time drying your hair, so I'll put you in a dryer." She wheeled over a dryer dome thing and stuck it on my head. I've never had this happen to me, and I was a hair model for 10+ years. Maybe it's because I didn't Look like their other clients. She then had me squat while she dried off the ends of my hair. She had me slide down the chair so my head rested on the upper back edge of the chair. My butt was off the seat and I was forced to balance on my legs while she dried off the ends of my hair. I wasn't able to sit comfortably on the chair. The only part of my body that was touching any surface was my feet on the ground, with bent knees - and my head on the back ledge of the chair. If this sounds weird, it's because it is. I've never seen anyone doing this to a client in a salon. It was demeaning. While talking with her, I asked her if she was accepting new clients (again because it seemed she was being nice to me) and she replied, "Yes, because they are all getting old and dying." uh, ok. What I didn't mention in my first review - I was a walk-in customer last summer. I came in dressed in slippers and yoga clothes. When Jiji first saw me, - she looked me U-P and D-O-W-N with disdain. Again, I have never been judged that openly in public, and nor should anyone ever be. Did I not fit the profile of someone who could be their customer? Maybe I wasn't good enough to be there and pay $70 for a haircut. That should have been a red flag, but I really needed a haircut, so I decided to try to ignore Jiji's offense and give her a chance. After the appointment, she had seemed nice and the hair cut was quite good, so that is why I booked the 2nd appointment with her in Dec. 2023. When I went in for my 2nd appt in Dec. (see review below), I was a bit more "dressed up". Jiji seemed nice and chatty to my face, but I saw the results later at home. The haircut was clearly lop sided, and big chunks of hair were cut with apparently no rhyme or reason. The haircut was such a stark difference from my original haircut that I told Deanne that I felt like Jiji cut my hair like this "on purpose". Again, I didn't look like their normal clientele. The owner said she was surprised as Jiji normally does a great job. Ultimately, I was dismayed that any business would have an environment that was passive-aggressive like this. On 3 out of 3 visits, they treated me like I wasn't good enough to be there, based on my Looks? If you are old, wealthy, and ... - They love you! If you are young, self made, and tan?? - Go somewhere else! GOT IT Loud and Clear _______________________ Dec 2023 - $100 Haircut results I had my haircut yesterday at Marsha nadalin in Kahala mall. When I got home I was horrified by the results. Absolute butcher job. I've never had a worse haircut. I will let the photos speak for themselves I paid $70 and made the mistake of tipping the stylist Jiji $30 for a total of $103."

"I came here already few times and the service was never good. When you make an appointment they never call you to tell you about any changes in their schedule should it be time or a person that will work on you. Always late to take you in. Once I had Yukari for the hair up do and she was amazing, the other time I had a hair cut and that experience was awe full. I came home and had to fix the length at home on my own."

"I really had a great first experience! The gal that took my reservation offered a stylist @ $60 instead of $80 since I asked about cost. I had Yukari who was awesome! She asked what my goal was for my hair. I said to grow long but cut. She said she kept the length but textured. I asked her to cut the bangs twice and she obliged but also said that was good already. When I wanted to cut more off the sides, she texturized again. She checked if the water temperature, hand pressure was ok. This is the best haircut I had. The two gals in the front were nice."
