Reviews
"It's my second time here. I tried the lotus this time but the croffle itself is so hard, not the one I expected, plus it's still early before 10am. Service is good friendly people. Just disappointed on the quality of the croffle."
"Tucked away in a part where only a few venture to this part of the mall. Next to Macy's on the second floor, just before the other food court in the mall. Walked past it first, but it did catch my eye. I'm glad it did. As I walked past it again, I decided to stop and give it a try. Their showcase showed a lot of interesting flavors to choose from. I chose the Lotus (Cookie Butter), Churro, and Strawberry Croffle. All three were scrumptious!! To describe it, it's like a regular machine waffle mixed with a crossiant. The toppings were light, flavorful, and downright. GOOD!"
"Didn't get shaved ice this time and unfortunately their magic cones were sold out, so we tried two croffles. The concept is solid but would be better if the croffles were still warm and crispy. The strawberry one was definitely the star- loved the not-too-sweet whipped cream and juicy strawberry slices. The taro one unfortunately didn't taste like taro at all but the crunch of the taro chips was a nice textural addition. Very friendly staff and fast service too!"
"I noticed a new dessert shop called OnaOna cafe in Ala Moana shopping center, my wife loves croffle and decided to grab a set. It was so delicious we went back there three days straight , also tried this magic cone which was soft ice cream inside a cane shape cone. It’s a must try dessert"
"Onaona just recently opened in Ala Moana Shopping Center next to the Lanai food court near Starbucks and Macy's. The shop is small with only 3 tables inside, but luckily you can always take it to go and eat next door at lanai or outside. The decor is nice, and you can smell the pleasant aroma of freshly baked croffles as soon as you walk in. The display is very nice, but they're still going through some issues. All the tables were taken so we had to take it to go. We got one strawberry croffle and one injeolmi bingsu and that's when things went wrong. The croffle was buttery and the strawberries were fresh but the cream was a bit too light and not as sweet as I thought it would be. I've lived in Korea and it's not as sweet as the croffle cream in Korea. The problem was that they only had forks and spoons and when I asked for a knife the cashier just looked at me funny and said utensils are on the side...it was very difficult to cut the croffle with just a fork and I didn't want to be an animal and use my hands. Then the bingsu was a BIG let down. The display shows beautiful examples of how bingsu is supposed to be but they put it in take out containers and smash a lid on top. So the actual bingsu didn't look a thing like the model. The other thing was that the injeolmi was very bad. Almost like someone tried to make mochi instead and just added injeolmi powder to it. I'll give them a benefit of the doubt for now as I still want to try their J shapped cone ice cream, but I don't think I'll be going back to get any bingsu or croffles any time soon."
